I hope you enjoy the last song in the 'Back For More' EP!

This track came together late summer 2018, Mathilda came down for a session and I played her a few songs, she chose a beat with really stripped back drums and bass line. It’s always interesting to see other artists workflow, she nailed most of the vocals first take and worked her way through writing the song super fast.

After she left the studio I was left with these tight finished vocals paired with basically just two elements: drums and bass. I spent the next couple days writing the sax lines, keys and guitar to pair with the vocals - I ended up with these lush warm tones that pull away into the original stark bass and drum chorus, at the time I remember having St Germain ‘Mary L’ on repeat which I think nails those moody harmonics you can get from building up layers of reverb drenched guitars and keys.
