This is an online collaboration/remix of a tune originally started by jakoB haQ under the title "A.N One [haQ Beats] Grime, Rhyme on it." It was originally developed during his haQ attaQ episode #88 "AN2015 Let's Play Yamaha Synth Book," from which I also grabbed spoken phrase samples. What can I say? jakoB tends to get a little enthusiastic about synth sounds! :-)

I used the Yamaha Synth Book app extensively in this project. Other apps include: Propellerhead Figure, UVI BeatHawk, and Native Instruments iMaschine. Finishing and mixdown were done in my DAW, MOTU Digital Performer.

Field Recordings of the Mysterious Ringing Rocks/Montana, music made with rocks. Near Butte Montana, and part of the edge of the Boulder Batholith, is a large jumbled pile of boulders, the rocks in this unique geologic formation chime melodically when tapped lightly with a crescent wrench or mallet.

It is believed that the ringing is a combination of the composition of the rock and the way the joining patterns have developed as the rocks have eroded away, though ultimately a concrete scientific explanation has yet to be arrived at. Curiously, if a boulder is removed from the pile, it no longer rings.

Slightly different pitches and timbres emanate from thousands of rocks in the formation, and in theory Butte's Ringing Rocks could form the basic ostinato for the "Music of the Spheres."(Musica Universalis)

Right after making this song I was going to get my iPhone next to me. I don't remember how I lost control over the balance with my hand holding the iPad but the other second it landed exactly flat on the floor (made of stone). I was lucky having a cover shield that keeps all the glass from going in every direction. And as a matter of fact I can still use it, and think I was lucky it didn't broke down completely.
