Ralph Session is a producer who has been making his mark on the house music scene dropping quality underground house music since 2009. The New Yorker, now based in Barcelona, has racked up well received releases on some of the hottest labels around including Razor-N-Tape, Local Talk, Nervous, Moulton Music, Large and Exploited and continues to head up his own label Half-Assed as a platform to curate the culturally deep sound of his native New York City. For his Freerange debut he’s joined forces with LA producer and vocalist Juliet Mendoza who can also be found dropping gems for the likes of Planet E, Ocha and Shaboom.
 
‘Freak’ sees Ralph stay true to his roots once again with all the US house hallmarks present and correct. Muscular beats keep things punchy and with plenty of weight and energy whilst the simple stabs and vibraphone hook and just the right touch of musicality without getting in the way of the all-important groove. Juliet Mendoza adds the icing on the cake with her spoken word urging you to cut loose on the dance floor.  
 
Detroit’s own Ladymonix steps up for remix duties and turns the freakometer up to 11. Fresh from output on her own Frizner Electric label as well as Planet E, Toucan Sounds and Studio Barnhus, she twists things into an otherworldly house jam which will lock you into its minimal groove. By glitching out the vocal and keeping the groove stripped to the core Ladymonix has created a club track that will stick in your head long after the lights come up. In addition to these two versions, there’s Ralphs own ‘Brooklyn Bounce Mix’ and an ‘Instrumental’ to get your teeth stuck into.

"Lungo makes his return to Groove Arcade this time with a 4 track solo EP. He’s created a beautiful all rounder with something for everyone but every track is still oozing with GA flair.

The A side brings us ‘La Gente’ and ‘Romantic’. The former being the party starter with a vocal that’s guaranteed to get the crowd excited, while the latter brings the tempo down with lush synths and a unique bass sound.

The B side starts off with ‘I Understand Perfectly’, a silky smooth groove with an electro inspired bass line and a killer piano hook. The EP is then complete with ‘I Forgot The Password’, full of nostalgic melodies, computerised sounds and 8 bit vocal samples perfect for winding down at the end of the night."

FINNEST brings us a new release, "ITS TOO LATE" by Mesquitas & Danny (AT), in its third reference, second of its "Underground Series" division, it is an original cut accompanied by a remix by the talented Philipp Lichtblau. The Original cut is an obvious example of the quality that Rafa and Danny have accustomed us to, very elegant deep house with a super sensual vocal and a subtle rhythm perfect for heating up the club floor at the beginning of the night. In the remix we have Philipp, who after having signed on labels like HedZup or Rendr presents us with a more minimalist version of It's Too Late, with a deeper bassline, a more extended dynamic and a happy groove that makes you move your foot uncontrollably and inevitably. Without a doubt, this maxi is a piece worthy of collecting.

To celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the label, Pont Neuf Records reveals a new volume of its compilation series Habemus Paname Vol. III with the artists who have marked the year of the label and the other members of the Parisian team: Tour-Maubourg, TAOS, the duo ALVA but also madcat, Cosmonection, Heuphrasia, Kx9000 and Paris Groove.
This third volume is a new opportunity to focus on the influences that make up the protean music range of the label by mixing genres such as house music, jazzfunk, disco or hip-hop with the multiple possibilities within electronic music.
This new compilation starts with a first french house part with disco accents with the tracks of Kx9000 «Requiem pour un boogie» and madcat «Cities of Lights». Tour-Maubourg also adds a softer part with the melancholic «Anyway You Want» while ALVA come to close this first part with the percussive «Louxor Funk» and its armada of funky riffs. The second part of the album opens on two deep-house, groovy and progressive tracks with «Liquid Soul Pt. II» by Paris Groove - the side project of ALVA and madcat - and «Road 909» the new track of Heuphrasia. Cosmonection - who will be back soon on Pont Neuf with a new EP - brings a darker touch with «Dust in Space» and its syncopated bass and rhythm. Finally, TAOS closes this compilation with «Souvenirs», a downtempo track with a sharp groove and a bewitching final arpeggio.

Pour fêter les 2 ans du label, Pont Neuf Records dévoile un nouveau volume de sa série de compilation référence Habemus Paname Vol. III avec les artistes ayant marqué l’année du label et les autres membres de l’écurie parisienne : Tour-Maubourg, TAOS, le duo ALVA mais aussi madcat, Cosmonection, Heuphrasia, Kx9000 et Paris Groove.

Ce troisième volume est une nouvelle occasion de faire la part belle aux influences qui compose l’éventail musical protéiforme du label en prenant plaisir à mélanger les genres tels que la house, le jazzfunk, la disco ou le hip-hop avec les multiples possibilités qu’offre la musique électronique.

Road 909, le nouveau titre signé Heuphrasia, emprunte à la seconde partie de la compil des airs de cosmique disco, notamment mis en orbite par le savoureux mélange d'une ligne de basse particulièrement grasse et de nappes synthétiques venues d'ailleurs. En résulte, un titre doté d'un groove intemporel.
