Brigitte Bühlmann has always been surrounded by music. Even as a child, the melodies of vinyl records by Rhoda Scott, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Ella Fitzgerald echoed through the family home. In her teens, the sounds evolved towards more soulful and funky accents. 

Although she began her professional life in the media at a very young age, it's in the hushed atmosphere of piano bars that she particularly likes to spend her evenings, taking to the microphone to perform a few pop or jazz standards. 

Self-taught, singing is an integral part of her DNA. Inevitably, she plunged headlong into the effervescent musical jungle, resolutely opting for the indie scene. 

She met Laurent Poget in a cover band. He was immediately won over by her singular, personal approach to the jazz pieces in her repertoire. 

The invitation to record an album and revisit standards with a jazz trio (piano, double bass, drums), in a dimension where Bill Evans meets Radiohead, came naturally. 

The idea began to take shape when they met pianist Noé Macary, who was genuinely enthusiastic about the project. As producer, Laurent entrusted him with the orchestrations, with clear guidelines. 

From the very first sessions, Noé came up with some magnificent arrangements, both rich and refined, original, bold in their structure and resolutely modern, perfectly in tune with the desired sound. Two of his musician friends, Thomas Chignier on drums and Sylvain Pourrat on double bass, joined the project. 

The recording took place over two magical days at Studio La Buissonne in Pernes-les-Fontaines, France. 

The end result was everything they had hoped for and more, and it was from these fruitful encounters that the album Beautiful Love was born...
