The anniversary podcast! Yes its been a year :) A fabulous year to say the least. And there's still 2months of it left...Thank you for following me around the world and listening to me. A formal note of thanks is in order but after i finish with this upload.

The first half of the podcast is mellow and then a switch! U can listen to the whole thing or fast forward to 50min to listen to the 2nd techy bit. Why so? Coz a lot of people wanted to listen to the groovy sound keeping with 'Life In A Bubble's' feel which was my first upload in the COME DANCE WITH ME series. This one features tracks that i absolutely love at the moment and some classics...its like riding a wave. Hence the name....SWITCHWAVE! "Sound systems are really what move me." The up-and-coming techno artist talks about the physicality of sound and how psychedelics inform his work in the studio.

What makes a good artist? In this RA Exchange, British DJ and producer Andrew Shobeiri, AKA Rene Wise, reflects on being a relatively new name in the scene and considers the success that ultimately comes with time and experience. "There's never a point where you're done," he says.

While Shobeiri is only a few years into his career, the up-and-comer already knows how to draw a crowd. He has finely tuned a highly kinetic and hypnotic techno sound that's brought him legions of fans and bookings on the world's top club and festival lineups. He divulges the ingredients that go into a Rene Wise set, including sound sources from genres beyond the club, like salsa, Iranian radif and the strange orchestration of Steve Reich. He also talks about his experience with psychedelics—which helped lay the groundwork for some of his most formative musical experiences—as well as how sound systems have changed the way he perceives and composes tracks for the dance floor. @oscarmulero is one of those artists whose sound is immediately identifiable. It has had an unwavering depth, headiness and atmospheric richness to it for more than 30 years, which is a remarkable achievement few can match. A famous non-conformist, the Spaniard's top-tier three-deck mixing skills and ability to distil techno to its most hypnotic form have also long stood him apart, as have his Polegroup and Warm Up labels.

Mulero's consistency of sound means you know what you're going to get with this mix: spaced-out, layered and deep techno brilliance. Bastian Balders is a techno producer, label owner, and DJ based in Leipzig, Germany. He has been involved in the electronic music scene since the 90s as a fan and listener. In 2014, he began creating his own music and he started working with the Berlin-based techno label Konsequent Records. In 2019, he founded his own record label “Balders Audio”, releasing music with artists such as Alex Bau and Alexander Kowalski. In January 2020, he made his debut at Tresor Berlin. This was followed by gigs in China, India, USA, and Cyprus. His style is marked by catchy, loopy techno with raw, hypnotic elements.

Andy Martin is a Mexican Jamaican electronic artist who mixes up sci-fi techno and Latin Caribbean sounds with a futuristic edge. His most recent album “Antiguos Astronautas” is a musical exploration between the sounds of techno and native american futurism narrative which had a good response from the music community.

Pooja B (she/they) idea of techno is a skittish exploration of time and space in this Dystopian world. While futuristic, loopy, industrial sounds for dark clubs are the signature style, she can skilfully adapt to play music for outdoor spaces. Pooja is an Indian artist who is now based in Berlin. Her sound was heavily influenced by the music she heard here when she first visited the city back in 2016. 

Pooja B used to release her music under the alias “ikigai” & more recently under her own name. Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means "a reason for being". Her reason for being is to make people dance :) She also takes a firm stand against racism, sexism & environmental issues, which she expresses via her music.
