Elephante - Closer feat. Bishop (VIRTU Remix)

This song started as a remix but I loved the instrumental so much I wanted to keep it. We tried singer after singer but nothing clicked. One day Nevve sent over some ideas, and with her voice, it instantly made sense.  To me, the dynamic across the lows and highs in this track reflect the complexities of love, the tribulations of lust, and everything that falls in between.  The turn of the new year has me feeling good, and like now is the right time to put this out in to the world.

"When I was in the early stages of making this track it was originally just the chord progression with drums. I put it up on my dump account and kind of forgot about it until On Planets contacted me and asked to collab. We decided to make it into something much bigger than my original plan and we really meshed together to make one of my personal favorite tracks I've ever been a part of." - HANZ

"I wrote the lyrics for this song because of a conversation I had with an older friend who experienced some very unexpected and undeserving hardship at a point in his life that most people hope to be able to relax and start winding down. When I am out in the mountains, spitting over the edge of a sheer drop gives some perspective of just how close I am—one step—from complete obliteration. The song is sort of a sober and pragmatic take on the emotionalized and connotative idea of “giving up”. While I tried in many iterations to write an instrumental that reflected that, one day while cruising through Hanz’s sketches/unreleased there was a beat that struck me right away. The straightforward elegance that he captures in his production is perfect, and from that baseline, the song basically finished itself in a matter of days." - OP

Some of you may have heard but one of my best mates and someone that I created my sound with has decided to end the $aturn project. 

About 5 or 6 years ago we started making chill trap music together and even started a side project called Chilled Velvet!

We made this track about 4 years ago and we never got a chance to release it and going through my old Soundcloud today and I thought if not now, when will I post this. So I thought fuck it imma put it up.

The vocalist Sarah Shields is amazing and she is is going to put out a completely different version of the track herself but she too thought it was too good not share this.

We loved this track and hope you do too, sorry we didn't get it out earlier xx

Both ‘Gold’ and ‘YES’’ are a testament to the success of Koven, spearheaded by their versatility as artists and demonstrating yet again that their production is forever crossing boundaries, never sticking to one genre. This is something which also shines through during their sets, in moments when Katie takes the mic and her electricity is felt across the crowds she plays to. Like their stadium-inspired music, each set performed by Katie takes its listener on an expedition through sound and ‘Butterfly Effect’ will be an embodiment of this same ethos.
‘Gold’ begins as a more rock-infused opener, before you’re met by Katie’s streaming vocal elements which drive the first euphoric breakdown. ‘YES’ delivers something totally different from Koven and it underscores their crossover appeal, whilst maintaining their flare for UK club culture. With a hook that sits beneath each staggered drop, ‘YES’ oozes with groove and stands apart from their more impassioned records. Instead, ‘YES’ was written solely for late nights and the dancefloor, only going on to highlight how diverse ‘Butterfly Effect’ truly is as an album.  
Koven’s ‘Butterfly Effect’ is about to be revealed to the global market; with a debut performance launching at Rampage Festival, Europe’s biggest dubstep and drum & bass party, as well as a packed world tour locked in for 2020.
