While in the early nineties Mario Gucci played his live set at the legendary Rotterdam club "Parkzicht" Dirk Schmidt (later known as Pop On Acid) was in his puberty dancing on Mario’s acid sets. They didn’t know each other back then but their love for ravemusic has been running their vains since then.

Now more than 20 years later Pop On Acid started his club "Bahn" at the brand new Rotterdam underground area "Hoornbrekers" exactly 20 meters from Mario’s, mainly analog, studio where also "Alien Disco Records" is housing. You can imagine that it didn’t last long before a new friendship was born and they started jamming in Mario’s studio. After days of old school musical memories and listening to those classics accompanied with the tragedic death of EZ Rock (from the classic ’It Takes Two’) in that same week they felt the urge to produce a classic-cliché-filled banger.

This is the first collaboration of the two producers but it certainly won’t be the last, word on the street is that more than 5 tracks are in post production stage so this story will continue …

We are Pop On Acid.

One year ago Pop On Acid was born out of respect for -and love of early house music.

House music has made us cry, laugh and everything in between.

Pop on Acid lives for the unbiased dance floor of the early 90's when house was just named house. 
It was the time when the world was two decades younger and didn't seem to sleep at all.
From the MDMA amplified emotions of an open-air crowd climaxing collectively on 'The Age Of Love', 
to the unexpected depressing chemical hangover that could take about a week to recover from.

Now Pop On Acid aims to completely ignore the parameters of current genres with our first release.

No need to label it synth pop, minimal, techno, acid or electro.

We just call it house music. Because, really, we all dance to the same beat. But different.

Pop On Acid are Boris Ross and Dirk Schmidt from Rotterdam and we want to thank Bear Damen (BEAR)
and Jeff van Hoek (JEFF solo) for contributing so nicely to this EP
