I taught myself to walk on stones
Glass and shells
Sticks and bones 

Now as an adult
My feet still roam
I've walked through hell
I've walked through homes 

Where am I going?
That question seems big
I don't need to think
I don't need to dig 

I've walked through lifetimes
And still I remain
A walker of the journey
In sunshine and rain 

My feet are back
On the beach whence they came
Walking on the stones
They're calling my name 

Slowly, take measure
Balance my weight..
Never quickly
The pleasure
Is in letting life wait 

For me
As i arrive
Carefully 
In one piece
Definitely 

You can't rush the craft 
Of being gracefully last
Having taken in all that I need to see

You can't run on stones
You would break your bones
That's not the way life is meant to be 

So pace yourself friend
Don't rush to the end
Tiptoe along playfully 

Life is here for you
The stones are too
Keep your eyes open,
And your mind in your feet

Old Ideas from Old Email


To my surprise, I found some of my old music ideas in my old email account. I thought I had lost them forever.

I had forgotten that a lot of music sharing used to happen through emails.

Some of those recordings were made in Audacity, and later on, I moved to Logic Pro 9. There were many of my own ideas, but also a few collaborations and jam sessions with friends.

"Thanks and Praises" is an original song by a friend named Jason Hickey, big love and gratitude for him birthing this song and allowing me to carry it in a good way. This song has touched the hearts of 100's in my hands, and more within his as well. I'm posting it for all those who remember themselves via this song and gather good medicine for themselves from hearing it! Also, gratitude and acknowledgement to Robin Liepman of Bloom Music Project for his "mana, from the Aina" portion of this song that stuck with me when he first introduced me to his original song in Hawaii. "I am worthy, truly worthy, to shine" another great section of this song, birthed by Josh Thomas in Maui, Hawaii. Big thanks to Sparrow Rose for singing with me, and Peter Barley on the harp for this iPhone recording, which was recorded on Barley Hill in a musical moment. Thank you family!

About the poet Elok Teja Suminar (author of "Hujan", the poem included in this musical poetry piece)
Elok Teja Suminar, was born on a small island, Madura in Indonesia. Started writing poetry and short stories since was a child. Currently, she has published novels, many anthology with other writers in Indonesia, And just published a collection of short stories. Elok also arranges many of her own poems into songs. now with her husband who is also poet and flute maker, Robi Akbar, owner of Juang Flutes. They support each other to continue producing artwork.
