Taking charge of this week's Rhythmic Culture podcast is Bogotá-born, Miami-based artist Bitter Babe. The up-and-coming electronic music connoisseuse and TraTraTrax affiliate has been pushing for Latinx representation in the electronic music scene for the last 9 years. She is a member of ECO, a Colombian platform that promotes the self-management and interdependence of national and regional electronic ecosystems and a member of Latitudes, a space that aims to amplify labels, collectives and artists from the Latin American electronic music scene.

Her mix is a true 60-minute masterclass in contemporary electronic gems, that touches upon all sorts of rhythms and obscurities for you to discover.

In Zohar’s renewed modus operandi analog and digital techniques interact with dissected and transformed sound experiments — an eclectic approach that honors the wide musical scope the artist seeks refined and surprising connections in. 

Consciously withholding energy, these seven percussive and pulsating tracks seek a balance between a near teasing attitude, and total transgression. In the end, Zohar’s volatile signature refuses to be contained.

“Stretching Pools” is the first collaborative project between  Mexican genre-hopping electronic musician Gabo Barranco aka AAAA and film composer and ambient wizard Johan Caroe from Copenhagen; The album was made over two years between Mexico City and Copenhagen, and is a shared dreamt up futuristic RPG / Anime  fantasy score; 

expect melancholic melodies, distorted voices, intense trance-inducing segments along soothing drumless tracks.

angel is a new label ran from Lisbon by @violet. A sister label to @naivetrax and naivety, angel tries to portray the party series of the same name - a bass-led, smoke-drenched celebration where the main room is dedicated to dnb and the second explores adjacent stylistic fringes like dubstep, trip hop, dub or jazz.

The first release on angel, similarly variegated, comes from berlin-via-seattle's Gag Reflex, who you may know from her EP on naivety a couple of years ago or from her impeccable DJ skills or even from her work in Seattle, where she ran BLOOM, a transfeminist night that helped shape the city's more inclusive corners of its dance music underground.
Lush is an EP that comes as a rarity when analysed by a lens of range and heartfelt originality. 

'Teeth' is a display of impressively programmed drums and percussion, serving as a base to a mantra-like synth and reverberating screams that fill us with a sense of urgency.
