Dark Matter

Inspired by a friend I bought my first pair of decks (Technics 1210's) in 1997. I was a bedroom DJ until 1998 then I started playing at House parties. It was all funky house back in those days. Then the Hard House explosion happened and in 2000 I played my first club, Sundissential North in Leeds thanks to the 4Clubbers.net boys who gave me a break. Over the next 2 years I gained a residency at Sacrilege in Nottingham and played at other nights including One Love, Parlez Vouz and The Sunday Sessions at The Phoenix in Manchester, I have DJ-ed alongside some of the biggest names in the Hard Dance scene including Andy Farley, Lee Haslam, Kutski, Shan & Guffy. I fell out of love with Hard House and by 2003 I had stopped playing in clubs. I continued playing at house parties and went back to my House roots but also developed a love of Progressive House and Trance, Sasha had long been a hero of mine. By 2005 I finally made it out to the White Isle of Ibiza and I had a new hero, James Zabiela rocked it at Space that year, his fusion of different styles and his tricks were a real inspiration. As Dance music moved into the digital age I moved onto Ableton. It's taken some time to master and there is still a lot to learn but this is my weapon of choice these days. My latest sets are a mix of all my favourite genre's, I try not to play the genre game but go with the sounds I like and feel that go together. I hope you enjoy, all feedback is welcome.
