Monday, May 2, 2016. I was on Facebook and saw that one of my best friends had been involved in a car accident and didn't make it. I was Heartbroken. I didn't want it to be real. But it was. His name is Cody Emery. He was such an amazing guy. He was going through some difficult times in his own life but always made sure to help others before himself. He always made sure he was the first to listen to my songs and he always told me they meant so much to him. It was an honour to know this guy. I can't wait to find him at the Lost and Found.

This song is a tribute to our friend Jhon– a talented artist, brilliant mind, and a loyal friend– who left this world too soon. When we received a call in January telling us the devastating news, Davis and I immediately got on the phone with each other. Talking this tragedy through, we decided the best way to celebrate Jhon’s life was by writing a song. You can hear elements of his lovely voice scattered throughout the track. The artwork and handwritten title of this song also belong to him.

After Living in Minnesota for a while, I had to move back to my hometown of Magnolia Texas. The day I left Minnesota was one of the hardest days of my life. Minnesota quickly became what felt like home to me. I was finally at peace living there. My new song "North Shore" is a flashback of everything I experienced up north.
