Formed nearly 10 years ago while in high school the band now known as Murals have traveled a long road to their debut Full Length LP. After some dips and turns the three core members have landed back in their home town of Louisville, KY. They write record and live in a house on a hill in the not so swank part of town - the type of place that acid trips and all day jam sessions go hand in hand. The results are an ever present body of slow churning psychedelic folk that wouldn't be so surprising in your hippie dad's record collection or buried deep in the crates of your headiest record store.

The Cause

A Link Wray tune, this track is from my forthcoming album release "Introducing" which features Tucker Martine's production (as well as drums!), Eli Moore's beautiful guitar, Steve Moore on the piano and organ, and some backing vocals by Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Laura Veirs. 

"Introducing" releasing May 13th 2016 on Bella Union(UK/EU) and Raven Marching Band Records(US) has elements of country and soul and features tunes written in the 70s - Tom T. Hall, Waylon Jennings, Don Gibson, Barry Gibb, Townes Van Zandt, Tom Rush are some of the songwriters covered.

"A child playing at the beach, throwing a stick in the air, interrupted by gloomy visuals that could be taken from an early Buñuel movie. Then water, a sailboat, finally the boardwalk of Nizza in black and white. Curious eyes of pedestrians watching you and following you as you move slowly down the crowded promenade, sometimes clear, sometimes blurry. What are you doing here? Do you belong here? Back to the beach. Images of children playing, fighting, running. Echoes of an allegedly happy, distant past in face of an uncertain future.“
