iO (Mulen) lands on Drumma Records for release number 021, the Ukrainian producer displays all his powerful talent on two tracks specially made for the label, showing his originality and craftmanship.

A1 Turboss is a powerful club tool for peak time, minimal acid flashes and a tireless march makes this track a transverse pump of steady energy for any dance floor.

B1 Forceful is a special cheerful mood track that delivers fresh air within the set, always in his personal style, he explores the deep flows of house music with a jazzy mood and an abundance of syncopation. It’s an excellent b-side to this ep with two special gems for the underground dancefloors.

As soon as you hear the name of Djebali, your hips gently start to oscillate and you realize that your foot is tapping the ground. The Paris-based groove ambassador has constantly provided dancefloor rollers over the years, releasing some of them on his homonymous label. For the imprint 10th catalogue, he invites French producer S.M.A.L.L. who's also 1/2 of the prolific duo Politics Of Dancing with Easy Babe EP, rounding out the package with his own version.

Swiss-born, Berlin-based artists Sauna and Wyatt have joined forces to present the release on their new KNDK Records imprint and they deliver 3 original groove centric club cuts for the funkiest of minimalist dancefloors.

We kick off our look at the ‘Planet X’ EP with the hypnotic A1 ‘Land On Planet X’. The stripped-back grooves twist and turn alongside a bumping bassline that bobs and weaves around taught percussion that lays the groundwork for some of the tracks well-crafted twilight moments. These deeper moments are short-lived as the focus is most definitely on the perfectly swung grooves that intertwine the full A-side of the record.

Flipping the record over B1 track ‘Atipico’ is much more minimal leaning with similar musical elements found on side A but the drums are more crunched, the groove has been dialed up a notch. B2 ‘Grey Sand’ is a more upfront cut with the excellent kick and bass combo working perfectly in tandem. The opening salvo from Sauna and Wyatt and their KNDK Records imprint is a solid one and hints at great things to come.

Positive Not Happy it’s a musical concept first, a descriptive name related to a precise way to make it and feel it, but also an ironic and smart name for our label. The idea comes from a team of friends based in Milano who share unfinished passion for underground electronic club music. Positive Not Happy born like a creative platform for us and our friends, and it’s also directly connected to our party brands Phoenix Room, Electronic Barbecue and Pennyroyal After Tea, with the aim to involve in our project the resident DJs and a selection of international guests. The sound will be oriented to energetic and solid club tracks, with a particular focus for accurate sound design and strictly electronic aesthetic. It results in a hybrid mix of house, techno, minimal and electro with a totally “positive attitude but not necessarily happy” vibe. Our three years experience in Milano club scene as promoters and direct support from connected friends in other key cities will give an international perspective to our label projects and showcases.
