The vocalist sings the words of the uncertainty and insecurity of the seemingly confident pedestal we boastfully stand upon. In this song, that pedestal is represented as a rooftop. We stand upon its lofty height, and we try to convince ourselves and others that we have it all together… like we are the superheroes. However, we know that this rooftop is actually a tightrope… it is actually the edge of a knife… and the higher we reach, the more of a reality our threat of failure is. At this high place, we realize that the peace we seek inside does not come by way of the tower we look down from. Up here on top, the potential to fall is even greater, and we are not as invincible as we would want to believe. We find none of that peace is here at this pinpoint we balance on, and we are empty inside by what we have discovered. We find that we are not just afraid to fall… but we are afraid because deep inside, we may want to fall.
