originally written around 1996-1997 and titled "How Sweet", this song was for some reason a favorite among friends and the "mosh party" crowd on Guam. for some reason, there never was a full-on electric guitar full band recording of this song... oh wait, yes there is. but the acoustic recordings were always better.

Poetica, the original chord structure started off as a rip-off of "Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart" by STP. this new version was a spur-of-the-moment sketchbook recording done in the living room while i was playing GTA V with my youngest son.

Born out of the Covid-19 quarantine lockdown, love & everything that comes with it, bacon, Bang energy drinks, Jameson, cannabis, and a trusty iPad, Set July on Fire is an electronic music project started in April 2020 by former Ars MF Poetica vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jer (you've probably never heard of them since they played on Guam like over 20 years ago mostly for friends at local parties lol). Mostly inspired by The Legend of Zelda, sandalwood incense, cabin fever, red wine, and meditation, this music is best served chilled over headphones while writing poetry or loud af through your car stereo on long, introspective drives while yeeting those worries out the window while contemplating life, lockdown, love, and where you'll get your next taco from. Or burger. Or pizza. We don't discriminate.
