Sublunar, the record label founded by Sciahri and Dagdrom last year starts his 2018 with a brand new EP from the Berlin based artist Refracted, known for his releases on Semantica, Pole Group, Silent Season and Mind Express.
 
This 12″ perfectly represent how his style has been crafted during these years, a balanced mixture between his incredible ear for detail, tunnelling trips and tougher beats.

 The EP starts with Vórtice and as the title says you will encounter a complex vortex of tribalist percussion, a mindblowing headtrip with plenty of moving parts slowly progressing across its eight minutes.  Ray it’s a full immersion into a trippy atmosphere with an high detailed percussive accompaniment, the result is a display of power and finesse.  Meta gives the title to the 12″ and shows to the listener a full overview of the skills hidden into Refracted’s repertoire. A tune that it’s constantly evolving over his runtime where a pressurized kickdrum push the tension higher after every beat.  Meridian, the closing track, stands out for its adventurous sound design, featuring an endlessly pulsating environment where everything is floating delicately in suspension.

Prague-based DJ Ester is sort of a young blood to the scene, her enthusiasm for electronic music brought her to play her first gig in 2018 in her hometown in Moravia. She’s most influenced by industrial sounds of the '80s from Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode, or Skinny Puppy and darkwave/postpunk bands. This why her sets bleed the raw, strict, harsh tunes of EBM while building dark atmosphere throughout the whole performance.

Vittorio Di Mango is an Italian DJ/producer from the class of 97, born in Trani, a small city in the south of Italy. 

Vittorio's first approach to electronic music was in 2012 when he played in little clubs in his city and those nearby. In 2014 he became interested in Techno music by taking part as a resident DJ in a local organization called "White XXX", which later led him to exhibit with such important artists including Dax J, Phase Fatale and Samuel Kerridge. His musical sets are characterized by a weaving of Techno with that of sounds such as acid, industrial and ebm. In September 2016 releases his first Ep ‘’Wrong definition’’ on Amok Tapes. In January 2017 came out his first remix ‘’Prepare to die’’ on NEN Records. On april 7 was inaugurated ‘’Epilessia’’ his first track on vinyl with I Hate Models on Khemia records.
In 2017 part of SENSUM EVENTS as resident DjIn 2018 he became part of WAYS and in 2018 he became part of WAYS.

The Croatian outfit were founded in 1995 by Siniša Očuršćak and Miljenko Rajaković. After releasing music for the cult italian label Minus Habens Records in the 90s, their musical partnership ended in the untimely death of Očuršćak. In 2010 Rajaković restarted the project with renewed zeal and he release 2017 new CD album “Distorted Information” for french Unknown Pleasures Records.

The style pursued for this seven track 12” lies between industrially tinted electro and blackened wave. Cold and brutal in one breath, warm and yearning in the next, the EP draws on a spread of influences to create texture and tone. A gulf of sounds is explored: from ghosting samples, looming lines and incising snares to dreamy and understated atmospherics. The flip is remix focussed. Taken from the 2017 album of the same name, “Distorted Information” is the source material with the Hal9000 computer being a common component of all three interpretations.
