In this set he performs Freeborn Man Of The Travelling People,The Gypsy Laddie and lastly, Lashún Gatna, his own song which was used in the popular RTE series Love/Hate.

Trish Nolan Live - A Celebration of Traveller Music

May 13th 2013, marked the beginning of Traveller Pride Week.

To mark this important week 92.5 Phoenix FM recorded a series of radio shows with local travellers and representatives from the Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group. These shows were broadcast from 11am to 11.30am every day from May 13th to 17th 2013 and are now free to share under creative commons licence.

1 Monday- Susan King talks to Catherine Joyce and Elaine Collins about issues effecting travellers in Dublin 15

2 Tuesday- Freda Hughes talks to Anne-Marie McDonnell and John Davis about the work of BTDG and the training initiatives available for travellers in the area.

3 Wednesday- Freda Hughes talks to Community Development Worker, Adelita Monteiro about issues around accommodation and health for travellers in Dublin 15. This show also features interviews with Mary Joyce and her family from their home in St. Brigid's Close halting site on Porterstown Road.

4 Thursday- Freda Hughes talks to Anne-Marie McDonagh and Adelita Monteiro about travellers experiences in education

5 Friday- Freda Hughes speaks to Geralidine McDonnell about the launch of the publication ‘Inspiring Traveller Women', Barry Semple from Clondalkin Traveller Development Group about their award winning bike workshop, 'Crossbars Bikeshop' and Catherine Joyce Collins about the ongoing struggle for ethnic minority recognition

These shows were produced by Freda Hughes and Catherine Joyce with sound and editing by Alan Maxwell, Susan King and Iain O'Connor.

The piece was recorded at the 4th such gig in the Cobblestone pub in Dublin on 10 Dec 2015 which was a fundraiser for the families affected by the tragic halting site fire in Carrickmines. Dave speaks to Freda Hughes, Jack Delaney, John Connors, Bernie McDonagh and Thomas McCarthy about what the gigs mean to the community and the importance of celebrating Traveller music.
