Él protesta y luego renuncia, buscando consuelo en la protección mágica, aunque ya no funciona. Las verdades se han revelado, haciendo que todo su mundo se desmorone y se desmorone. Prophän es el proyecto solista de música electrónica de Othman Cherradi, con sede en París y anteriormente en Casablanca. Cherradi dirige el sello de techno experimental Rhadâb y es cofundador de Mindless, una serie de eventos en vivo, podcasts y transmisiones de radio. Premiere: Mediterráneos presents ‘Al’maghfira / Forgiveness’ by Prophän. The album is a conversation between the artist and the voices in his head, sometimes these voices manifest themselves as a song playing in a loop, other times a raging roar. He protests, then resigns, looking for comfort in magical protection, even though it is not working any more. Truths have unfolded, making his whole world crumble and fall apart. The rage builds up, entering the most primitive mode, by following his instincts and attacking on sight. Then, a state of peace and quiet. Serenity. He turns outwards, looking for beauty in life, looking for God, some kind of protection. Al’maghfira evokes beautiful sorcery entwined with chaotic times, conveying its melancholic emotions into grim electronics. In these industrial and tribal signatures, you will hear the nuanced elements of forgiveness.

Prophän is the solo electronic music project of Othman Cherradi, based in Paris and previously in Casablanca. Cherradi runs the experimental techno label Rhadâb and is the co-founder of Mindless, a series of live events, podcasts and radio broadcasts. He acknowledges a wide spectrum of musical inspirations, ranging from industrial and noise to the undeniable influence of local trance-inducing musical practices and customs that surrounds him in North Africa.

Mirae Arts announces the release of The Way I Am and The Way You Yawn, the debut album from Katsunori Sawa under his new KWARP alias. Katsunori Sawa is a distinguished figure in Kyoto's experimental music scene. Sawa first made waves in 2008 on the UK-based Ai Records under his EOC alias. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the music world by running the now-defunct 10 Label and collaborating with renowned artists like Yuji Kondo (as Steven Porter), Martsman (as Bokeh), and DJ Nobu (Nobusawa). These collaborations have seen releases on prestigious labels such as Kynant Records, SNTS, and Token.

As a solo artist, Sawa's music is crafted in his hidden studio, nestled within the cement walls of a Tadao Ando-designed building. His unique sound, characterized by rhythmic noise and undulating bottom-end rave abstractions, has earned him an album release on Opal Tapes, making him the label's first Japanese artist. 

This six-track album marks a significant evolution in Sawa's musical journey, blending his experimental roots with fresh, vibrant textures. The Way I Am and The Way You Yawn reflects on the fleeting nature of youth and the aspiration to maintain a childlike curiosity, while also acknowledging the fatigue that comes with aging. Mostly produced with modular synthesizers and analog equipment, the album takes listeners on an auditory adventure through a series of imaginative soundscapes.

The album opens with Frog FM, a track characterized by forward-driving hi-hats and alien voices echoing and clashing, reminiscent of a scrambled FM frequency or a child playing with an analog radio dial. Light Dash follows, placing the listener in the cockpit of an unknown vehicle emitting reverberating artificial sounds. Side A closes with The Spectator, featuring voices from above and creatures talking with one another.

Side B begins with PlayStation, evoking the sounds of a gaming console booting up. Metal Gear reflects the inner metallic workings powering our entertainment. The album concludes with Ultra, a track filled with belching aggression and mechanical expressions, almost as if the music itself is trying to escape the speakers.
