Our first ever premiere introduces the 129th imprint on Montreal-based label, Archipel. This album from Italian Rico Casazza hosts 8 intriguing tracks, 4 of which are available only for those who invest in the wax!

Our featured track is one of those vinyl bonuses, named as the entire album is...'Yaman'. Its hypnotic and music box styled melody, is the first stand out feature. As the electro-led beat and energetic claps develop, so does its wonderful 303 bassline. The track epitomises Rico's style in its perfect balance between his melancholic songwriting and his desire to make people move.

After ten years of producing electronic music, Rico Casazza has created a successful identity for himself and his moody, yet melancholic style of making music. Casazza has released on labels such as Soma, Archipel, Plastic City and our very own platform Loose Lips, which has helped him establish himself amongst the ranks of diverse producers in London. This is no easy task due to the sheer volume of quality artists hailing from this great city. Whether it is Ambient, House, Electro or IDM that you are looking for, Casazza will have his own tripped-out and crunchy take on it. His highly effective, sample-based way of producing reinforces these stylistic qualities. 

Rico Casazza has had a very successful career so far with over fifteen releases under his belt and even with this impressive figure behind him, he shows no signs of slowing down.  Showing the depths of his musical knowledge, he's turned his hand to teaching others how to use Ableton live and all he knows about the DAW. As well as teaching, he also spends time working on his hybrid live set that gives an insight into his love for analogue synthesisers. Rico’s live performance has taken him around Europe and South America, adding to both the maturity and vast array of influences behind his productions.

Rico Casazza’s latest offering is eight tracks in the form of his second LP. We have the privilege of premiering ‘Yaman’, which demonstrates his no-holds-barred approach to writing. As a teacher, producer, live performer and an incredible selector behind the decks, Casazza has cultivated a varied and detailed range of skills. We here at Loose Lips have followed his musical journey thus far with great curiosity, and can’t wait to see the ways in which he will surprise us in the future.

Posthuman - In Apophenia

The leaves on the tree swayed gently in the breeze, casting a shadow across the river below. Barely a sound permeated the air, only the soft trickling of the river's current and the sweet coo of the birds overhead. This place instilled a deep feeling of tranquility. A space to reflect, to remember and to look towards the future. 

For their third release London-based imprint Room II Records are calling on the skills of Slacker, a producer who's previously landed on Lobster Theremin and their UNDR sub-label. Signalling a more atmospheric and reflective direction than his previous outings, Mists Lift takes inspiration from elements of jungle, hardcore and DnB and half-time.

Speaking about the release, Slacker explains "I wrote these tracks when I lived with my parents and started working with children in need; it's my effort to navigate the themes of grief, love, friendship, and progression. ‘Mists Lift’ serves both as a reflection on this time as well as an exploration into the cathartic function that listening to and producing music have in helping me to understand the human experience. Intended to be introspective with a few bursts of rural life, I hope that ‘Mists Lift’ speaks to something deep within the listener as well as being geared to those special euphoric moments on the dance floor.

Stylistically, ‘Mists Lift’ draws inspiration from the atmospheric corners of the hardcore and jungle continuum. Although most obvious on ‘Escapism’, glimmers of the jungle attitude toward broken drums, loud basses, and glistening pads can be heard throughout. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of listening to 'Mists lift' as I did making it."

PREMIERE: Slacker - Longmarsh [Room II Records]

Amis de toujours du label, et sérieux partenaires de foire, le duo de Bruxelles, Techno Thriller, intègre en fanfare la famille Teenage Menopause Records. 
Ces dernières années, nous les associons à l'EBM crasseuse et à la Techno-Industrielle hachée qu'ils assènent lors de lives super-massifs, percutant l'audience des salles sombres. 
Deux albums sur l'Entorse et Unknown Precept, représentés par l'agence du C12 à Bruxelles et la prometteuse Pilori, ils ont écumé l'Europe, sortant quelques tubes fumants, pour qui aime le parpaing, le cuir et la sueur. 
Forts de ce parcours impeccable, ils proposent, pour Teenage Menopause, une libre relecture du Decameron : chronique en 10 textes du florentin Boccace, sur l'arrivée de la Grande Peste de 1352 dans sa ville.
Empreints d'influences médiévistes, orchestrales et chantées, les 10 titres mixés par Tioma Tchoulanov de UVB76, forment ici un époustouflant album dense et tortueux que les featurings de Naomie Klaus (Les Chimères) et Tamara Goukassova (Léonore),  creusent encore un peu plus. 
William Blake y croise Coil et David Tibet (Current93). Le Corbeau de Allan Poe vole autour d'eux, formant une danse païenne, confrontant l'auditeur, rendant son imagination fertile par ces temps troublés. 
L’artwork est signé Carole Mousset. 
Artiste plasticienne nantaise, elle vit et travaille dans les interzones tardives de Bruxelles, aux côtés de Techno Thriller. C’est donc un travail collectif que Teenage Menopause est ravi et impatient de proposer.
