Eric Wright was born to Richard and Kathie Wright on September 7, 1964, in Compton, California, a Los Angeles suburb notorious for gang activity and crime. His father was a postal worker and his mother was a grade school administrator. Wright dropped out of high school in the tenth grade, but later received a high-school general equivalency diploma (GED).

No one survived on the streets without a protective mask. No one survived naked. You had to have a role. You had to be "thug," "playa," "athlete," "gangsta," or "dope man." Otherwise, there was only one role left to you: "victim."

Wright supported himself primarily by selling drugs, introduced to the occupation by his cousin. Wright's friend Jerry Heller admits that he witnessed Wright selling marijuana, but says that he never saw him sell cocaine. As Heller noted in his book Ruthless: A Memoir, Wright's "dope dealer" label was part of his "self-forged armor". Wright was also labeled as a "thug". Heller explains: "The hood where he grew up was a dangerous place. He was a small guy. 'Thug' was a role that was widely understood on the street; it gave you a certain level of protection in the sense that people hesitated to fuck with you. Likewise, 'dope dealer' was a role that accorded you certain privileges and respect."

In 1986, at the age of 22, Wright had allegedly earned as much as US$250,000 from dealing drugs. However, after his cousin was shot and killed, he decided that he could make a better living in the Los Angeles hip hop scene, which was growing rapidly in popularity. He started recording songs during the mid-1980s in his parents' garage.

The original idea for Ruthless Records came when Wright asked Heller to go into business with him. Wright suggested a half-ownership company, but it was later decided that Wright would get eighty percent of the company's income, and Heller would only get twenty percent. According to Heller, he told Wright, "Every dollar comes into Ruthless, I take twenty cents. That's industry standard for a manager of my caliber. I take twenty, you take eighty percent. I am responsible for my expenses, and you're responsible for yours. You own the company. I work for you." Along with Heller, Wright invested much of his money into Ruthless Records.[14] Heller claims that he invested the first $250,000, and would eventually put up to $1,000,000 into the company.

Canadian synth pop / post-punk band influenced by Kraftwerk.
Formed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in1980 by Tracy Howe, former drummer for Montreal punk bands The Normals (later Heaven Seventeen) and synthesizer players Bill Vorn and Mario Spezza.

The latter was eventually replaced by Kevin Komoda, who in turn left the group in 1983, and was replaced by bassist Denis Duran. They reunited for a synth-pop festival in Sweden in 1997 and were officially revived by Tracy Howe in 1998 with Jean-Claude Cutz and Dave Rout, both ex-members of Digital Poodle, recording their comeback after fourteen years.

Kevin Komoda rejoined the band during 2012-2014, but the current line-up consists only of Tracy Howe and his wife Gaenor Howe.

Since he began DJ'ing at the famous Dorian Gray club at the age of 18, Sven has created ripples through the world of electronic music in many ways: As co-founder of the trendsetting labels Eye Q Records, Harthouse and Cocoon Recordings; as owner of the clubs OMEN and Cocoon Club; and perhaps most importantly, as the godfather of Germany's trance and techno scene since its inception in the early 90s. Sven, like no other person in electronic dance music, has the ability to expose underground sounds to the mass population. His 14+ hour sets are the stuff of legend, and he will be DJ'ing parties until he his unable to physically operate a turntable - and even then he will be doing something innovative to propel electronic music into the new era.

The Beat Club started off in Miami in the late 80s as a studio project of producer Ony Rodriguez; with his girlfriend and future-wife, Mireya Valls on vocals. Their track Security drew influences from the Miami Bass sound and was successful enough to gain them a major label deal with Atlantic Records. Soon afterwards they moved to the UK and accepted an offer from New Order's manager, Rob Gretton to sign for his recently launched label, Rob's Records. 

Since then, The Beat Club has remained a "faceless" studio project; nevertheless evolving to incorporate Ony's various styles and influences.

The Pussycat Dolls were an American pop girl group and dance ensemble, founded in Los Angeles, California, by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995 as a burlesque troupe. Shortly after launching their own revue, the troupe became well-known for the number of actresses and models that joined and performed as a Pussycat Doll for a night alongside the group. With this growing amount of media attention, Antin then negotiated a record deal with Interscope Records in 2003, which transformed the group into a music franchise comprising Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts (2), Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, and Kimberly Wyatt. Overseen by Antin, Interscope and various partners, the group was transformed into a global image and commercial brand. In 2009, Billboard ranked the Pussycat Dolls as the 80th most successful musical act of the 2000s, having sold in excess of 54 million records worldwide, positioning them as one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. R. J.'s Latest Arrival was an American R&B, dance, and soul music band from Detroit, Michigan, United States, who formed in the late 1970s and reached the peak of their popularity in the mid-1980s. They released their debut self-titled debut album in 1979. In 1984, they scored one of their first big hits with "Shackles," featured on their Harmony album. Drummer Rudy "Famous" Maldonado left the band during The Shackles Tour in 1984, although he was featured in the video for the follow-up single, "Harmony." The group scored their biggest hit single in 1988 with "Off The Hook (With Your Love)."They scored other moderate hits on the US Billboard R&B chart throughout the 1980s.[1] The group later became more based in traditional R&B and soul music, but broke up in 1990.

Rice went on to form Barak Records, an independent hip-hop record label based in Detroit. The label's most notable acts were Slum Village and SMD. Rice also produced the majority of the album Hello by singer-songwriter Poe, including the first single "Angry Johnny".

Munro continued in the entertainment business creating the entertainment/record company Zycron Media and Zycron Records, creating, producing and hosting the Hotspots television show airing on NBC and CBS affiliates.

Paul Louis Hardcastle:
Born: December 10, 1957 in Kensington, London, United Kingdom. 
Renown British Record Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist Musician, and Songwriter famed for his hit single "19". 

Enjoyed success on the underground dance scene in the early 80s before, under the management of Simon Fuller, breaking into the mainstream with "19", an international smash which spent five weeks at number one in the UK. In the latter half of the 1980s he specialised in TV soundtrack work, and now records mainly under the pseudonym The Jazzmasters. 

Due to contractual restrictions, Paul was unable to release music under the Hardcastle name. So, in October 1990, under the pseudonym The Deff Boyz, he released a 12" single entitled The Deff Boyz Featuring Tony Mac - Swing, which crashed in at #4 on Billboards 12" sales chart and was a massive hit all over Europe. Another project under the name LFO also saw massive sales. 

In 1997, Paul did some work for the movie "Spice World", later working as a radio presenter in the US. 

He is married to his teenage sweetheart Dolores Hardcastle (born Dolore Baker) and together they have 3 children: Maxine Hardcastle, Paul Hardcastle Jr. and Richard Hardcastle. Susan Hardcastle is Paul's younger sister and she lent her voice to the backing vocals for the song "Fooling Yourself". 
He has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Rheingold ist eine Musikgruppe aus dem Umfeld der Neuen Deutschen Welle (NDW). Die Mitglieder sind Bodo Staiger (Gesang, Gitarre), Lothar Manteuffel (Text) und Brigitte Kunze (Keyboard).

Zwischen 1980 und 1984 veröffentlichten Rheingold drei LPs mit deutschsprachigem Elektropop. Zu den größten Erfolgen zählten die Titel Dreiklangsdimensionen, Fluß und FanFanFanatisch (die Musik zum Film Der Fan mit Désirée Nosbusch und Bodo Staiger in den Hauptrollen). In den deutschen Single-Charts erreichten Rheingold Platz 17 mit Dreiklangsdimensionen, Platz 24 mit FanFanFanatisch und Platz 44 mit Das steht dir gut. Dreiklangsdimensionen war die erste der NDW zugeordnete Single, die im Oktober 1981 in den bundesdeutschen Top-20-Charts auftauchte.[1]

Lothar Manteuffel gründete 1992 zusammen mit dem ehemaligen Kraftwerk-Musiker Karl Bartos das Duo Elektric Music. 2009 war er als Keyboarder auf Tour mit Peter Heppner.

1984, bei einem der letzten TV-Auftritte der Band im Bayerischen Rundfunk, wirkte Rolf Meurer als Keyboarder mit. Heute ist er Sound-&-Stage-Designer bei Kraftwerk.

Bodo Staiger gründete 1988 das Rheinklang-Studio in Düsseldorf, in dem er als Produzent und Toningenieur tätig ist. Er wirkte 1997 bei der Produktion eines Soloalbums des ehemaligen Kraftwerk-Musikers Wolfgang Flür mit, das unter dem Projektnamen Yamo veröffentlicht wurde.

Im Jahr 2007 erschien in der Urbesetzung das Album Electric City (Düsseldorfer Schule) mit Coverversionen von Düsseldorfer Elektropop-Bands der 1970er, 1980er und 1990er Jahre, unter anderem Fehlfarben, Kraftwerk, La Düsseldorf und Propaganda.

Maggotron (born James McCauley, and also known as DXJ, Maggozulu 2, Planet Detroit and Bass Master Kahn) is one of the pioneers of Bass music. He uses samples from many sources, and is influenced by Parliament, Funkadelic and Earth Wind and Fire among others. In 2000, he worked together with his former engineer Bass Mekanik on the album Bass Alien – Tales from the Lo-Zone. In 2001, he mixed and compiled a CD featuring Miami bass classics for empirewerks music: Super Bass – Original Old School Booty Shakers. The same year, his compilation Electro Jamz from the Vaults of Jamron Records brought Miami bass and electro tracks from his early days as a producer and performer. Due to pressure from Pandisc Records, the humour in his later work for Pandisc became less notable.

DXJ's earlier work was characterised by its humorous approach, which can also be seen in his use of pseudonyms. Musically, DXJ's music is characterised by its use of electro/bass beats and rock guitars, as well as vocal samples from all kinds of sources. Cultural and ethnic diversity are also part of the fabric of Maggotron's sound. Men and women of various nationalities have helped work to achieve the sound that Maggotron is noted for.

Internationally known, DXJ'S Contributions to Miami Bass, Electro or Street Music has influenced Break beat, Crunk, Ghetto Tech and other genres of music. Miami Bass/Electro itself is a hybrid branch of the Hip Hop /Electro Music genre/style.
