Spring time is in the air and we are looking forward towards the sunny days ahead. In order to help you to hang on and get through the ongoing lockdown, we invited Cosmic Cherry for this month's podcast.

Cosmic Cherry is an up-and-coming DJ and Producer with German-Persian roots who grew up in Frankfurt and is now based in Berlin.

As a former competitive figure skater, music and dancing have been imprinted on her since she was a young child. Growing up, she also learned to play the guitar and was part of the state theatre choir where she got her first paid job at the age of 10, singing and acting in well-known opera pieces. 

Her love and appreciation for electronic music rose as a young adult, where she explored the underground clubbing scene in cities like Montreal, New York, Paris, Frankfurt and Berlin. Two years ago, she started to DJ at smaller bars and clubs in Berlin and Frankfurt, rekindling her love for music. 

Her mix for Loser Records feels a bit more melancholic than her other, more upbeat mixes. She sees springtime as a time for herself to reflect a lot about identity and life’s impermanence, as we witness nature going through rebirth. With tracks like “La Perla” by Sofia Kourtesis and “Am I just living” by SHEE, the listener is put into a reflective, yet hopeful mood.

The next mix is coming in by two of Salon Des Amateurs' Residents @marijanaanajiram & @lucas-croon . Marijana is originating from Belgrade and came to Germany in 2013 for her scientific work, where she ended up meeting Lucas, Producer and DJ with a wide musical background. Lucas played in Bands such as BAR, The Klooms or Stabil Elite, and already had experience with DJing so it was natural he got her introduced into the equipment and techniques when she got offered her first gig.

Now they're here, spreading good vibes for the slow tribes!

1) Introduce yourself?

My name is Niv Ast, I’m a producer and dj based in Tel-Aviv

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

This year has had so many highlights its hard to choose. I've had the pleasure of playing in a lot of cool places in Europe and met some great people, also being able to release my music on some amazing labels. I'm really grateful.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

Looking forward for my upcoming EP on Correspondant and another EP with Eliezer  on our own label (New Day Everyday).

Also a lot of upcoming remixes and gigs, all over the world.

Skelesys has been working on different music lately, on a wide spectrum of styles, which hopefully will end up being an album. For the last couple of months he was making a lot new material, some of it for the dancefloor, some for listening while lying in bed. This set is recorded live in the studio so it feels more like jamming sometimes, seeing what could come up. He added some vocals on top as well as his guitar bits and lots of 80s vibe sounds from his synths. Skelesys loves musical challenges of putting out something that comes up as a spontaneous idea, it gives him adrenaline at some point, he says.
