The Betrayal of Sentiment:
The suite exposes how modern capitalism has betrayed the ethical foundation laid by Adam Smith in The Theory of Moral Sentiments. It critiques how terms like empathy, fairness, and freedom have been distorted into branding tools, stripped of their original moral weight. The lyrics trace this rupture — from Smith’s vision of wealth as a shared uplift, to today’s market systems built on extraction and optics.
The final verses reclaim language, proposing a new grammar of care and truth. It’s not just a critique — it’s a call to redefine meaning, restore integrity, and spit cipher against the machinery that rewrote virtue into profit.
