Off The Tape CHACO CANYON RUINS
"Built and occupied hundreds of years before Columbus. Left by thousands of inhabitants when Europe was in the dark ages. 800 rooms in a lovely canyon lost in the vastness of the southwest. There was originally a stand of ponderosa and pinon pines in the canyon, and the Indians chopped down all the trees for roof beams inside the houses. When the trees were gone, the land wouldn't hold water any longer and they were faced with drought ... the entire site had to be abandoned. It's the same thing we're faced with now on a world-wide basis, except of course that we have nowhere else to go."
