So many artists come together as the result of a break-down in a previous musical collaboration and Power To The Robots are no different. They began as two parts of a whopping 9 piece funk/soul covers band called Kultbandet and found that they were on a different musical path to the other members as a result of an impromptu jam. This jam proved to be the catalyst which ultimately led to a the jams becoming a fixed event after every Kultbandet practice and eventually spread light on their musical fusion and talent which left Power To The Robots standing in the smoke after the demise of Kultbandet. Bjarte Klevberg had never even played a synth before which seems remarkable considering his exceptional skill while his band mate Esben Thomassen Andersen is a bit more experienced in drums having played in several other bands before this one, some of which he currently provides the beats for. Once you hear their tracks it comes as little surprise that both were part of different bands before as they have a diverse range within their music that comes from good taste across a variant of genres. The depth to the tracks makes them likeable from difference audience perspectives and this is also reflected by their range of influences which go from the harder rock sounds of Muse and The Prodigy to the more electro based acts like Royksopp and rowdy Brits, Pendulum. At the tender age of 18, the pair aren’t even old enough to see some of the acts that influence them so heavily but if they keep producing tracks like they have been, they could soon be playing alongside their idols before they’re old enough to buy spirits.
