Up next in the art:cast special series is Dublin-based artist Dylan Forbes, whose name might have come to your ears due to his regular performances for his monthly radio show at Balamii, his Rinse FM set or simply because of music he's been releasing since 2018. Speaking of the latter, Dylan has put out EP's on renowned labels like Coymix Ltd, run by Timo Deeprhythms and Steffan Todorović, and Echocentric. Additionally Forbes put out two EPs, Smicer and Manual Exploration, by himself. His contribution for the art:cast special series is musically diverse: dreamy House chords meet more technoid or techy influenced takes, peak-time moments alternate with warm(up) vibes and fuse to a fluent and coherent mix that delivers those goodies for any mood and time of the day, either shortly before going out or when coming back home or just for your dose of electronic music.

@kessel-vale's cosmic debut EP "Shapes" came out earlier this year on John Osborne’s Tanstaafl Planets imprint, and won plenty of praise for its fresh, melting-pot approach to German house/techno. Since then, the young producer has been getting plays from DJs such as Scuba, George Fitzgerald, Alex Coulton, Dubspeeka and B.Traits.

There are few names within electronic music as widely known as that of Boys Noize. The producer and label boss often casts an array of debate as to the relevance of his sound amongst the underground. However, it is difficult to challenge his selection policy in the booth, his tastes more informed than most. This was perhaps most visible on his addition to the fabric mix series which featured music from the likes of I-F, DJ Deeon and more. However, it was still called into question by "heads" if you will. 

Now he steps up to our mix series with a fresh selection of tracks designed to ignite, excite and no doubt challenge. What's the point if people aren't talking about you eh?

Boys Noize: The Ransom Note Mix

The next addition to the mix series is a live recording of Kudan b2b Triple Point b2b Yak at Hope Works. The near three-hour set from them playing in Mesters showcases the trio doing what PPG does best; stitching together a myriad of high tempo and trippy sounds. PPG's Coe jumps on for a couple nearer the end too and, as you can hear, things got pretty heavy pretty quickly. Thanks to everyone in there, especially those who stayed with us for most of the three hours!

The next Wire mix comes from yet another Leeds-based producer who is readying himself for global lift-off. 

Adam Pits, being one half of the Space Cadets alongside his cockpit comrade Lisene, is particularly primed for extraterrestrial travel. His productions (including two releases on Holding Hands, one on Wex and an upcoming record on Be Told Lies) intend to put a rocket up the listeners’ arse, blasting you into motion with phat basslines, rolling breaks and epic melodies.

His DJ sets are equally striking, melding euphoric trance with gritty UK tech house and techno, all seamlessly mixed as you’d expect from a classically-trained musician. Most importantly, though, is Adam's wicked sense of humour, which finds expression in the bombast of his DJing style. 

This podcast is a true reflection of the above. Strap in and prepare for launch 🚀

Hanagasumi - hazy curtain of flowers, cherry blossoms appearing from afar like a white mist - this phenomenon can be seen during the sakura blossom in Japan.

Introducing the second Hanagasumi release from Shine Grooves. This time the release has a slightly different sound character. The first side is minimalist and abstract rhythms filled with twisty synth sequences, seasoned with house sauce and stringy keyboards.
The second side has an ambient mood. The first 2 tracks contain soft synth parts and melodies, which are supported by broken rhythms and magical percussion. The final track in the release is reminiscent of the minimal and glitch house of the early 2000s, which will allow you to immerse yourself in an atmosphere of serenity.

A wonderful blend of deep and dear house, melodies and memories throughout, Reece’s mix he describes as almost in ‘two parts’, a progression from ‘house to Detrotier stuff’.

"As we continue our ever long winded hiatus from the dancefloor, we are happy to welcome a new group of producers to the label in the form of 00:AM’s fourth various artists compilation. Certainly not the only way we expected to come together this year, but we’re grateful to be able to cultivate another 12” to share with the world.

Across the A Side, we are joined by three artists who we’ve had the pleasure of hosting and playing with in Montreal over the past couple years. Alfredo92 of the Axces crew in Copenhagen presents ‘Tente Hjul’ which gets the remix treatment from Mr. ACTION SHADOW himself, Fett Burger. The result in something distinctly mechanical but not without a human pulse and a tear jerking conclusion. Fantastic Man then puts his own psychedelic twist on the hardcore continuum, taking the beautiful palette of his recent LP on Mule Musiq to the brink of insanity with ‘On The Run’.

On the B side we find two new friends to 00:AM. We have a mandatory “minimum of 1 ESB tune gets played a night” policy round these parts, and so its truly a pleasure to release his ‘Sequential Dub’. Nothing less than a future classic, it’s dubby and understated, but a little quicker than you think. And finally, its a pleasure to introduce 2wo2imes, who delivers ‘Immune’ a deep and driving excursion into the wormhole.

It’s a weird world, we miss you all, but we’ll keep doing what we know best, releasing and enjoying the music that moves us - no matter the time or place."
