From reflection, to acceptance, to hope, ​Forgotten Ones​ delves into the contradictions of  accepting the status quo while identifying it’s shortcomings.

Esencia​ is proud to present ​Forgotten Ones​, the new album from London based quintet Culross Close  (an alias of K15).

​‘Acceptance’  finds the quintet in familiar hip-hop territory, carving out a top tier groove with a recurring piano motif  of the highest order. Their vocals, this time more chant than choral makes for a brilliant 5 minute  mantra.

After repping on Money $ex Records, Bosconi, Sonar Kollektiv, Fuzzoscope, Wild Oats, and more, the three dogs started a genuine collabo inside Nas1’s lab, hometown Bologna, which naturally led to this modern house 12” four tracker, which will be out mid april.
Parents must be advised, content is pretty explicit: odd and abstract jazzy chord progressions, pon fairly intricate, live drum machine sessions, throughout.

The ep got love and early radio support from Alexander Nut, Funkineven, Max Graef, Byron the Aquarius, Charlie Bones, and more.

The newfound label will serve as an outlet for its founders, as well as for their very favorite dawgs round the planet.

Central AYR Productions.. Recorded in various places and others spaces, mostly around Orlando Florida. Multi-Instrumentalist and Vocalist, Anthony Cole is the latest chapter of the PPU family album. AYR, pronounced "air", was formed in 1993. AC recalls "those were very productive and indulgent periods of my life", "the next level in black light".  We've got countless hours of 4-track cassette recordings to sort through, these were the first few standout tracks, presented to you in their unedited entirety. Stay tuned for more of the what we call Dirt Music, only in the underground, building on where PPU began.

People's Potential Unlimited (PPU) is a very special record label in DC known for discovering and reissuing some of the weirdest and best ultra-rare boogie, funk, and other dance music from the 70s, 80s, 90s as well as a new generation of beat-makers who draw inspiration from these strange worlds of sound.

Started by music fiend Andrew Morgan and operated out of his basement, PPU’s is a world that re-imagines funk as outsider art and cosmic-boogie as a modern variant of folk music. What would it be like if your school janitor made rap music in the broom closet or if someone in middle management still nursed a dream of being the next El Debarge? The label’s roster includes Robbie M., Dwight Sykes, Evans Pyramid, George Franklin Smallwood, Uku Kuut—names found on demo tapes abandoned to time, or else unearthed online. But PPU also pushes the present into the future. Newest members of the PPU family include DC favorite sons Beautiful Swimmers,  Dreamcastmoe, King Pari, PPU VHS Video mulcher Luke Wyatt, LA beathead Benedek, Vancouver space cadets Pender Street Steppers and Miami sound machine Mickey de Grand IV. There's a palpable scent of both mustiness and freshness to be found in all of PPU's grooves though, the smell of funk from a parallel dimension.
