On my main channel, I uploaded a video essay discussing Charli XCX's album how I'm feeling now, which has just celebrated its fifth anniversary. That album's song "party 4 u" has gone viral in 2025, so I thought it would be nice to mash it up with something else. I like doing making mashups that the average person wouldn't expect, even when the two songs work together musically. The Chemical Brothers are one of my favorite electronic duos of all time, and their debut album Exit Planet Dust turns 30 this year--as I was listening to the album recently, I found myself singing the melody of "party 4 u" while the song "One Too Many Mornings" was playing, and I realized that a mashup of the two would be perfect.

In honor of the fifth anniversary of Charli XCX's album how i'm feeling now, I have created a mashup EP, where I have combined my five favorite songs from it with songs from five different decades. This is the "2000s" mashup of the bunch, and I decided to mash up the album's lead single, "forever", with Rihanna's iconic single "Umbrella". 

The lyrics alone make these two songs a perfect match (I'll love you forever/told you I'll be here forever), and they are incredibly close in bpm. The instruments of both songs also work together quite well. I feel very proud of this mashup, and I hope it shows in the music.

This is the "2020s" mashup of the bunch, and I decided to mash up "claws" with Addison Rae's 2024 hit single "Diet Pepsi".

Considering Charli XCX and Addison Rae have now collaborated twice and performed together multiple times, this is probably a mashup both of them would like. Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy it just as much as I enjoyed making it.
