Shortly after the completion of his upcoming album, 'The Deeper You Go,‘ a deeply-rooted project that since 2012 transcended from mere music production to a sort of an intuitive and self-reflective journey. Torture the Artist sits with the label owner and established DJ Producer and gets right to the heavy stuff, and as the new father reveals more about his artistic approach, his commitment to detail, intuition and music as art, the more his character aligns in sync with the sound and atmosphere depicted through his productions. 'The Deeper You Go' is not only the album title but also the first track on it and sets the mood for the other eight musical pieces to come. Already supported by various key-players, for a good reason, 'The Deeper You Go' depicts André's general preference for deeper House sounds with an eye/ ear for details creating a warmth in melancholia that is unique.

EXCLUSIVE: André Lodemann - The Deeper You Go [Best Works Records]

youANDme has been pumping out genre-defining and genre-defying electronic dance music for over 10 years and has earned his reputation as top class producer and DJ. The Berlin resident returns to Poker Flat with a superb EP - Traveller - a collaboration with close friend and peer Tim Toh.

Raised in Southern Germany, now residing in Berlin, Tim Toh gained a reputation as exceptional DJ and vinyl enthusiast. His skills first came to the attention of Soulphiction and led to a series of releases on Philpot, followed by outings on labels like Ornaments, Freerange, Mild Pitch and many more.

The results of the collaborations are particularly engaging - four tracks of deep n' baked house music around the theme of movement. 'Voyager' starts the journey fittingly using the Moog Voyager synth as a starting point and building a driving, string-laden track, topped off with Lisa Toh's (Tim's sister) whispered vocals.

Next up comes 'Traveller', which boasts a fantastic 'Mastermix remix' from the Norwegian disco don Prins Thomas - a typically spaced out, dubby groove emerges taking all three original tracks of the EP into orbit at once.

'Passport' is another deep roller - smoked out beats are joined by a thick, subby bass and house organ chords that remind of classic Carl Craig or Theo Parrish moments.

'Excursions' winds up the EP, a subtle and emotional groover that eventually breaks down into the strings that begin the EP- a perfect trip.

The long running and influential Global Underground label is back with more brilliance, this time in the form of a superb Just Her original and a remix from AudioJack.

Fall From Grace is a deeply emotional track with spine tingling vocals that really make a mark. The pained synths all around and the bubbling drums and bass all cast a real spell and are sure to mark a standout moment in any set.

Audiojack have long been house mainstays, well travelled DJs and have a fine discography on vital outlets like 2020Vision, Hot Creations and Leftroom. Their version is raw and more physical, with chunky drums but also plenty of the musical and emotional class of the original.

A really fine release from a label that never fails to deliver.

PREMIERE: Just Her - Fall From Grace (AudioJack Dub) [Global Underground]

Collaborations sometimes occur in the most unexpected ways. Jon Charnis (Innervisions), Mike Fisher aka Lovecraft (Stranjjur), and Prab K (Dance Through Life/SIM) had been friends for years in Washington DC, finding each other through music and developing a bond that crossed into all aspects of their lives. However, as their journeys took them in separate directions across Los Angeles, Boston, and Miami, sitting down together to make music was never easy.  
 
On the day that they discovered Art Department’s remix competition, it felt like something special was in the air. A new year had just begun, and all of them had been touched by the magic of Burning Man. They agreed instantly that they would try to create something together, regardless of how much distance separated them. Within a few hours, each member of this collective started exploring sounds, sending them to each other, and eventually fusing their unique styles into a new whole. The end result came from a week of non-stop work, late nights spent in studios, and calling each other with no regard for the time of night.  
 
In the end, this remix is about three close friends and musicians, the magic that comes from Robot Heart’s dusty playa sunrises, and new musical horizons together.
