The 2020 COVID Pandemic Blues meant I didn't get a chance to celebrate my 40th last year in proper style.  We had big plans - BIG!  But alas due to COVID restrictions, we had to kaibosh what was to be a party for the ages...

This year we made up for it just in time for my 41st and Sextone's 50th and we put together a little party on November 6th, 2021 in Toronto @ the Wiggle Room.  The double-vaxxed policy and a low background test positivity rate encouraged us to hold our first indoor event in several years!

I wanted to bring some intensity and peak time sounds to my 45 min slot after midnight and so I chose some slices that really brought me back to those vibes I was chasing in various events around the turn of the millennium.   I curated weapons that reminded me of that early rave palette: techno and hard trance, breaks and acid.

Back to the purest Disco sound in our new episode of MM Cast, brought to you by Maurizio Schiró, also known as DJ SCM. Born in Palermo but based in Berlin, Maurizio has grown in the Berlin underground scene alongside his own imprint 'WATAJ,' through which he has released a significant number of tracks under different aliases like Enzo Conoga, Tony Pianola, Mariella Novanta, Mimmo Stella, and Santo Piccante. Records where disco and balearic go hand in hand, delivering a fresh, original, and highly addictive sound. Releases like ' Paesaggi Immaginary,' and the mini album ' Introducing Tony Pianola in Luce Artificiale' speak for themselves about DJ SCM's elegance, although undoubtedly 'Estoy Totalmente Loca por ti' was the record that definitively put him in the spotlight of the scene with that mix of 90's balearic and italian dream house that literally 'turned us crazy'

A guy who's on an endless voyage, riding ethereal waves and pushing musical boundaries, definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
