amazing.. been listening to this on youtube for a long time

It’s been about 3 years since the first single, Flames, from my album In Tokens & Charms was released. It’s been quite a journey so far, for me and my songs, with all the love you guys have given us over the years. 

We decided to end 2017 with something special. An In Tokens & Charms, Deluxe Edition. The original album along with two officially unreleased songs (Tonight and Big Surprise), a piano version of Flames, and a brand new song called Just To Be With You.

Oh Love

This song was an attempt at writing something wise, which might have been a bit of a reach at 𝟐𝟏. What do you truly know about life at that age, unless you've experienced something extraordinary? But I had been thinking about what it is to be ostracised and misunderstood, and I was looking for a way to express my support to those who go through that.

The music started with my affection for added ninth and suspended chords, and this composition is consequently loaded with them. The words had their wee beginnings in early 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟓, but I put a lot more work into them when I knew I'd be auditioning for 𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐀 and decided to bring in a recording for them to hear. I tweaked them even further after the recording was done. Anyway, as I recall, there was only time during the audition to listen to the first two songs on the tape, and this was the third.

I would say the song holds up all right after 𝟑𝟎 years, but I'd do things differently now. Of course. All creatives want to redo some detail after the fact, nearly all of the time. Don't they?
