The New Tower Generation are homegrown Viennese talents more known for their musical prowess in the live domain or on your favourite broken beat record but they come to Praterei 004 with an uncanny affinity for the essence of house music.  The one fingered layers of 'Horny Goat Weed' build to create a loose but purposeful assault into a dancefloor groove that might have existed at any point in the last 20 years - determined, jacking and Mellotron-tastic. 'Trembolon' is an altogether more multi-timbral affair.  From the off we're in balmy sonorous territory and the building synth line counterpoints the relentless jazz loop, accented by live percussion. If you're not roused by this you need to check your pulse.

Praterei returns with their 5th instalment and so do those twins with their second successive offering to the Vienna stable! The ingredients on this one are similar to the last but the result is no less stirring.

The rough and ready side of the 12 belongs to the aptly entitled 'House' and you'll soon see why. 
Never straying too far from the old school; shuffling beats and rims keep things swinging. 
Each layer of the melody is deep in 'you'll be whistling this later' territory and intermittent vocal shouts remind us exactly what it is we are listening to.

The flip beckons for you to 'Walk With Me' and that you must. 
The beat saunters along but always with a sanguine skip and our seductive protagonist guides 
us through the warm textures of rich pads and stabs.

This is one of those records where, for both tracks, the message could not be more perfectly translated. Every aspect contributes to a common goal, and that's a rare and quite special thing.

Praterei asserts its septenary in confidence with a double AA-side collaboration between label proprietor 7 Citizens and Berlin based producer  Rydim.

They each offer their own interpretation of the The Interview; a live jam from Rydim´s studio in Friedrichshain last summer. The result is a mischievous jaunt through each of the pair's renowned sentiments and fortes, a chugging pulse and playful synth-work underpinned with misshapen and ethereal pads.

The Rydim side leans towards the floor with an unmistakeable ij swagger and pushes the intent of the track to the fore. 
7 Citizens, meanwhile, brings a touch more subtlety to the equation and gives things space with delicate reverbs and intricate sound design. 

Both are for the ass and the ears alike!

Praterei – the label

Since 2009 we once in a while were giving away handnumbered vinyl releases featuring exclusive tunes by artists who played at our club night. In truth you never knew who´s on it for sure, but that - according to us – made things even more thrilling. 
At the same time our imprint evolved into a homebase for new artists such as analogue rebel 7 Citizens (who is one half of Hundred20, alongside Motor City Drum Ensemble) or The New Tower Generation, a cheeky talented producer duo, introduced in 2012 on our fourth & fifth vinyl. Number 6, released in march 2013, was the first Various Artists Ep featuring Chicago Skyway, Snuff Crew, Ethyl and 7 Citizens. And there we go with Number 7, about to drop in late spring/early summer, featuring a jointventure of Rydim and Praterei co-founder 7 Citizens.
