Tucson, Arizona's CRIMEKILLZ had an all too-brief history. Forming in 2008, singer N8NOFACE & producer Scumbag Tony released two blistering synth punk EPs in 2010 ("Kills Kids") & 2011 ("Never Dies"), plus a great (delayed & generally unheard) album "Destroy Stress" in 2013.  A split 7" with N8's blood brother Zackey Force Funk, then one more self-released mini-album that year ("Slauson EP") and they were gone.

N8NOFACE created the sophomore album to his 2014 debut demo compilation "The Dolo Tape", with a newly crafted collection entitled "Stories Of Those" [HNR69]. Stories that are not commonly told are the stories of those. Fourteen minimal wave post-punk tales from inside, creep onto ill-lit streets and recede into a looming electronic shadow.

 
Our co-sign starts off by familiarizing us with his methods, only to report "The scene is dead... the scene is soft... the scene's not real" on lead banger 'Trucha' (with accompanying music video & collectible flexidisc [HNR70).  Paying fitting tribute to the author's narco-torius former hometown with the track 'Drugstore', and with pledged devotion just wants the kids to know 'It All Goes Away' (the second single & video).  Spectral Gonjasufi halfway-materializes from the aether, blessing some enduringly haunting bars on 'Hello God', however disappears just as fast, with the narrator taking exit close behind. In less than thirty minutes the album ends, though with as much as you were just told, explicit details remain dark and for the life of you cannot recall actually seeing a face...


"Stories Of Those" is released on MAY 8, 2017 with the first pressing of 300qty limited-edition White or Bloodstain 12" vinyl records (each housed in a screenprinted monochrome cardboard jacket), compact cassette tapes, 7" flexi-discs (with the non-album B-side 'Full Clip'), plus special bundles with collectible handmade zines, buttons, stickers & more.

Combining the frosty abrasiveness of acts such as Christian Death and Skinny Puppy with the more accessible pop stylings of Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys, Prayers is an electronic rock outfit formed in 2013. Originating out of San Diego, California and comprising members Leafar Seyer (real name Rafael Reyes) and Dave Parley, the band came together after Seyer sought to form a new project after having helmed various others, including Baptism of Thieves and Vampire. The duo aimed to lyrically depict the pitfalls of gang life after Seyer had experienced the culture during his teens. This, combined with reverb-laden drums, resonant synth work, and elements of post-punk, led to the group coining the term "cholo-goth." 

Prayers independently released their first full-length, SD Killwave, in 2013 and followed with the Gothic Summer EP the next year. The video for one of the SD Killwave singles, "From Dog to God," caught the attention of the Cult's Ian Astbury, who invited Prayers to open for him on a 2014 tour. 

Prayers spent 2016 working on the follow-up and released the single "Black Leather," which featured celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D. The following year, the band delivered two new releases: Curse Be Thy Blessings, an EP with the original members of Christian Death (accompanied with a documentary entitled Beyond and Back that chronicled the collaboration), and their third album, Baptism of Thieves. Both releases arrived in the fall of 2017.  The band released a "Wild Roses" remix by Fragrance. in April 2020 with music video animated and directed by Dani Moreno Cordero who directed their 2015 video for "Drugs" featuring Travis Barker & DJ Klever after selling out the Fonda Theater (Los Angeles), Observatory (San Diego) and playing Tropicalia festival and with The Cult at Greek Theater (Los Angeles) in 2019.
