Ambient techno proper with Timnah Sommerfeldt

Nestled in the inner city of Basel, Switzerland, lies one of the more progressive and experimental outposts you can find for techno music: Timnah Sommerfeldt. A bastion for new and intrepid sounds to blur the lines between tempos, beats and space - it’s a platform that allows Timnah - in conjunction with her cohorts Garçon, Agonis, and Varuna - to continually define and redefine the non-existent.

By bringing a deeper, fourth world and atmospheric mix to her sound - the Timnah Sommerfeldt effect is as cerebral as it is rhythmic and immersive. With the gregarious side of techno seemingly always within earshot - it’s artist’s like Timnah Sommerfeldt who posses the ability to embrace entire spectrums of genre, making for a wholly beguiling experience every time.

"Arriving into Temple, already dipped into the most sacred silence and the most daring sounds, not seeing but feeling the familiar faces and expert listeners was somehow intimidating, but also encouraging and exciting. I had prepared a hybrid live set, djing several recordings and reviewed old tracks i compiled through the year, on preparation of another live set for Mostra, and a sp404+FX full of sounds, sampled movies, sequences and patterns to fill the gaps and refill the most dance-oriented moments of the set so there could be a little more entropy and fun.

The idea was the "interruptus' vibe where full dances would be difficult but the movement and weird hand twists would arrive through extra filterings, complex pseudo beats and dub passages of the set.

The sound and gear at Espacio Perpendicular are also intimidating for those of us not used to such definition, so the experience was even more brilliant. Doing lo-fi processes into a hi-fi system is such bless.

Adhémar is a multi-disciplinary artist, establishing his universe through music and visual works.
Constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and light, his music is closely linked to his plastic work. 
This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows us to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular relationship on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material, immaterial world, the fact that everything is constantly becoming). With a particular rigour for transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJ set, his universe is built little by little, with the passing of sound transformations and the light and poetic transportation of it all.

Ronny Pinazza (@ronny_pinazza) tries to convey the feeling of the infinite timelessness of the soul of nature with music in an understandable language. His DJ sets are always driving, ritualistic. Natural sounds and hypnotic melodies allow the listener to reach another state of consciousness. His productions are experimental, unorthodox. Hypnotic rhythms and driving beats characterize his tracks, always filled with natural sounds. The listener is transported in a space that seems to exist between the stars. Deep in his heart he believes in infinity and that time and space are only imaginations. His goal is to express these inner feelings with music, so in 2021 he set out to develop his musical language. Ronny Pinazza has released 2 EPs on Cellar Door records, EP and single on MDivision Group Records. Collaborated on VAs on Indefinite Pitch, Initiate Records, Free Palestine Charity VA, Linee Sonore. London-born & raised DJ, he has been blessing venues worldwide with his spirit and beautiful sessions - which are always a trip! Josephine’s Soundscapes is José Salas, an audiovisual creator, art director, and active promoter of alternative culture in Madrid. In his musical endeavors, he functions as a DJ, radio host, promoter, and programmer in clubs and institutions, as well as in projects of various kinds. He works partly through his independent promoter cell, a_mal_gam_a, together with Diskoan, and partly alone or as part of other projects such as CALMA, Temple at Espacio Perpendicular, or Radio Relativa, among others.

Josephine' Soundscapes 'Vanishing Point'  x Oslated.

Since the death of Phill Niblock last January, I have been completing this selection, using his work as a starting point.

It's an exercise in musical evasion, working like a slide into the void. A composition based on layers of drone music and minimalist compositions, fitted into this small project of mine, the series of mixes titled 'Vanishing Point: Music to Fade Away'. Musical artifacts to stop being there.

I suggest conducting the listening exercise in the best possible conditions, taking a break from everything else, alone or in good company, with the volume up, allowing your mind to drift.

EMC welcomes Joan Gila!

Joan Gila, a vinyl enthusiast, is the curator of @hoc-radio and also manages a small cassette label focused on ambient, avant-garde, and experimental music called @red-edge-label. He is part of the duo @binomi with his friend @slim-jordi.
This DJ set was recorded in Madrid at the Temple event, curated by @machines-desirantes and @javier-camunas, which takes place at @espacio-perpendicular, an intimate venue with exquisite sound. This particular set is Temple 03 featuring @hardcore-chillout, and it's an exercise in mixing and merging an older record from around the 80s with a new one, playing with them in such a way that the listener doesn’t know where they are.

Pregnant Void is a new division of Italian label Out-ER (Out Electronic Recordings).

The label started investigating in the relation between sounds and emotions, how frequencies and sounds interact with living beings, collecting experts’ opinions, researches and experiments.

Pregnant Void represents a mysterious, natural space of our Globe. The word is used into the astrophysical area of interest to indicate an invisible world to our eyes but full of vibrations. Those same specific vibrations which contributed to create the Universe and, later on, the Planets surrounding the globe.
