This week we welcome the founder of Submersive Records, Bevel.
He has been active on the Deep-Techno scene since 2013 through his label, productions and dj sets.
Inspired by the hypnotic beauty of the underwater depths, his music evokes dark, captivating landscapes where organic sonorities, raw textures and rave-cut rhythms invite us to tip over into a timeless space.
 Like a gradual plunge into the abyss, his productions and sets invite us to let go, to slowly pull away from the surface and sink into a space where silence amplifies sounds, gestures slow down and bodies soften.
The dancefloor then becomes an immersive place of physical experience of sound, where moments of tension and fragility follow one another in the service of emotions conducive to introspection.
It's a vision of Techno that he's been defending for over 10 years through his label's various releases and podcasts, and his appearances and residencies at the Batofar, Social Club, La Machine du Moulin Rouge, DV1, Glazart, HÖR, etc.

Our paths - in real life - first crossed at Mostra Festival in 2023, and it was one of those rare connections where you just know there’s much more to come. About this mix (few words from F-ON): 
"About the storytelling, well,  i can explain how the process of the recording was:
Friday night, It has been a hard and stressful day.
Everyone at home is sleeping, so I take a RedBull can from the fridge and I go to my dinner room.
I close the door, and start to record. The healing vibes start in my technics turntables and my Genelec monitors that sound very low.
I don't want to wake anyone up.
The next two hours are just for me.

His progressive sessions, profound and with long mixes, are real voyages that sail through experimental music, ambient and horizontal and dubby techno.

His productions are 4x4 experiments of low tempo with field recordings and marked spaces, where he explores timbres, textures and cinematographic structures. He is resident at the Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and owner of the label Antimatter together with Bule.

He is also the owner of Alpenglühen (the label) focused in deep and ambient techno which explores the thin line between light and darkness.

Mirrors 025 - Jamie McCue

Contributing our latest episode is London’s ANNX, a regular figure within the city’s cutting-edge undercurrent whose many contributions include co-curation of the Whomp, Perspectives, and once-shrouded Magick events, and a residency at the beloved Above Below festival. Anna’s tireless dedication to the scene goes hand-in-hand with her unmistakable talent behind the decks, as evidenced by an impressive repertoire of mixes and set recordings, and which I was fortunate enough to witness first-hand last summer in the Chilterns. Here Anna demonstrates her well-honed craft over the course of two meticulously plotted hours, diving seamlessly into manifold forms of deep, heavy psychedelia before emerging in a wave of euphoric bliss. “You will find that your greatest difficulty is concentrating on the sounds themselves, for the thoughts, impressions, and memories that these sounds conjure up will persistently take over part of your concentration, pushing the real-time sounds to the background. Make sustained efforts to return to the sounds arising in your present moment, for your mission is only to listen to them, not to think about their meanings.
 
As time passes and you steep yourself in what you hear, you will discover an increasing number of sonic details around you. Each of these details will lead you to another; each sound will lead you to a neighboring one. At this point you will find that your inner voice gradually diminishes at the same rate by which you immerse yourself in your sonic environment.
 
When you ultimately succeed in listening to the place in its entirety, you will find that the distance between yourself and the space's sounds has diminished, and that you have become part of the place.”
 
How to Disappear

Temple is a space to disappear in sound. An aural shrine in which self dissolves.
This extract from Haytham El-Wardany book, How to Disappear, read by Philipp Rhensius aka Alienationist, seemed to encapsulate part of what I expected Temple and Espacio Perpendicular to be, and I thought it would make a nice intro.
 
From there, the selection was aimed at making it easy for the listeners to disappear in sound. Experimental noises to tickle the brain, moving to more melodic or tonal pads. A slow crescendo to some more ‘deconstructed beats’ shifting  towards a “4 to the floor” groove.  Horizontal start, seaweedy dance ending.

Pregnant Void is a division of Italian label Out-ER (Out Electronic Recordings).

The label started investigating in the relation between sounds and emotions, how frequencies and sounds interact with living beings, collecting experts’ opinions, researches and experiments.

Pregnant Void represents a mysterious, natural space of our Globe. The word is used into the astrophysical area of interest to indicate an invisible world to our eyes but full of vibrations. Those same specific vibrations which contributed to create the Universe and, later on, the Planets surrounding the globe.
