The latest addition to the Roam Recordings Mix Series comes from Freudenthal (@freudenthal), ½ of Pardon Moi who are behind the fantastic Power to the People Remixes EP on Roam Recordings. The Damon Jee remix of Power to the People is a track to build sets around and is featured in this mix along with other spectacular choices of 80s influenced modern new wave tunes that come together in a fantastic journey through sound. We are thrilled to feature this mix in our mix series and thrilled to have the music of Pardon Moi on Roam Recordings.

Karpov not Kasparov has remixed Balkan Taksim’s recent single ‘Anadolka’

This is a hypnotic 80s disco-revival flavoured rework of the balkantronica produced outing, courtesy of 80s dancefloor maestros duo Karpov not Kasparov. Here, Balkan Taksim's Carpathians' roots beats are placed over a bed of warped disco grooves, allowing their cruddy rhythms to see a new lease of life.

This remix best represents the explosion of colours that Balkan Taksim evokes through their music and live shows, which saw them appear on the bill of several summer festivals across Europe. Without overwhelming elements that made the original so endearing, Bucharest based duo Karpov not Kasparov has fleshed out the track with dance-skeletal framework and an oldschool 70s warm, floaty atmospherics.

After 11 years as a DJ Fredrika left Stockholm nightlife in May 2019 to embrace unexplored roots and live on a remote Island. Productions are there generated from personal explorations put into pieces of sound. Similar to her productions, DJ-sets are described as deep, atmospheric, meditative, and energetic journeys. Creation in movement, inspired by her lifestyle, mind, and soul - Fragments of her identity.

"Creating this episode was a step into something new but familiar. This year has been about transition for me, in different ways. So with recreation in focus, I've been reflecting on the past plenty.
