Throughout the EP Cassette Sale, Alain Gertrand takes off his mask and unveils a super groovy house with a strong identity.
 
Le Roi et l’Oiseau, as a snappy lead-in, reminds us of Chicago and Detroit, as much as the next tracks.
 
With Anna Lise, sounds are more organic and airy than in the first track but still as rousing.
 
The third track, Cassette Sale, includes a vocal sung by Alain Gertrand in French accompanying a very well balanced mix of airy pads and synthesizers and round elements.
 
The last track, Crâne de Poule's interpretation of Cassette Sale, is a breakbeat rhythm track including shades of funk and 90's hip hop.

Cem G's Unreleased Ltd. label keeps up the fine early standards it set with a new two tracker from German artist Volkan Akin.

Infinity is a supple rhythm with heavenly pads - or are they choral vocals? - up top. All manner of textures and FX add detail to this most alluring of grooves as it unfolds over 12 glorious minutes. It's an emotive journey with exquisite sound design. 

Next up is Outcry, which has a more loose and languid rhythm as the bass loops down low and the jittery percussion keeps you locked. Again the synth craft is beautifully serene and all manner of details occupy the mind. 

These are two artful and irresistible minimal cuts.

Pretty Eyes is a brand new and essential free tune from Cali Lanauze that shows off exactly what the Puerto Rico based artist is all about. 

As well as making tunes for labels like Flying Circus, Visionquest and My Favorite Robot, he has been in the Beatport top 100 on a regular basis and also promotes parties back home as well as running the excellent Opulence label. He is a real studio wizard who here cooks up a catchy and infectious garage-house tune with crisp drums and alluring trumpet motifs. The steamy vocals bring the soul and the drums never let up so that the dance floor stays engaged. 

This is a killer tune that draws on Lanauze's own heritage.
