London based Italo-house afficionado Demi Riquísimo’s Semi Delicious continues to roll out superb releases with consistent development in its sound. As the label matures towards its third year of operation, Demi invites a host of UK talent for the third Various Artists release to date.

Demi kicks things o ff with his archetypal soul-soothing disco-tinged house. Live percussion grooves interlock punchy kicks and mesmerising arpeggios sprawl out across the top. Vitess joins the Shall Not Fade family with a vibrant contribution to our Season Series. Retroactive City sees the Parisian talent helm the uplifting house sound for which his prolific live sets have become known.

Easing us in is the down-tempo slow burner ‘Cockpit’ with synth arpeggios that bubble playfully on the surface of layered ambience and a modest two-step rhythm. The next two tracks take things up a notch with funk-infused melodies (​​'Fantasia’) and old school Robin S-esque organ samples which make for a fiercely modern take on a classic deep house sound (‘Popeye’). Flip to the B side and thumping floor-fillers ‘No Dancing’ and ‘Ratz’ maintain the pace before ‘Grand Turismo’ switches things up completely. Jungle drums rattle under luscious pads before mutating into 4X4 to make the perfect closer - both to the EP and to any DJ set.

Hailing from Utrecht, DJ and producer Locklead is known for his stand out house material via Slapfunk, Dungeon Meat and Pleasure Zone with support from Raresh, Enzo Siragusa, Djebali, Varhat, Janeret and more. Following his debut album ‘Square One’ on Chris Stussy’s Up The Stuss, the Dutchman now joins the Dark Side Of The Sun family with his latest EP ‘Era’ with French maestro Sweely and label-founder Van Dijk on remix duties. House masterclass ‘Era’ kicks off the EP as eerie sonics ride a groove-laden beat guided by anthemic keys and subtle bleeps, while the aptly-titled, bass-heavy ‘Friki’ gets down with driving low-ends and tripped-out vocals. ‘Initiate Robot’ is a peak-time affair boasting heavy synth work and enchanting harmonies over deep tones. Next up, Sweely serves up a pacy, cosmic rework of title track ‘Era’, peppered with galactic samples and spiralling electronics, before Luuk Van Dijk’s stripped-back reshape of ‘Friki’ fuses snappy percussion and sweeping chords.

Locklead - Era

Directly and exclusively from London, Adrianza records present the promise of house - ASH-R, who bringing to the label two original tracks with a sophisticated musical line, fusing characteristics of 80s House with the modern one. 'Do You Wanna' starts the things off with funked bassline which picks up with its catchy melody and the drum set that generates a movement, escalating into an explosive track laced with old school chords and vocal cuts. In follow-up comes 'What The El' which generates a feeling of flight with a melody that appears to envelop you as well as the minimalistic flying synths that will make you enjoy the trip on the dance floor. The original is accompanied by an outstanding remix by the excellent Wodda.
