Throughout the EP Cassette Sale, Alain Gertrand takes off his mask and unveils a super groovy house with a strong identity.
 
Le Roi et l’Oiseau, as a snappy lead-in, reminds us of Chicago and Detroit, as much as the next tracks.
 
With Anna Lise, sounds are more organic and airy than in the first track but still as rousing.
 
The third track, Cassette Sale, includes a vocal sung by Alain Gertrand in French accompanying a very well balanced mix of airy pads and synthesizers and round elements.
 
The last track, Crâne de Poule's interpretation of Cassette Sale, is a breakbeat rhythm track including shades of funk and 90's hip hop.

Ireland’s Polytunnel evokes a celestial electro rave with latest single Outer Earth, back up with an exceptional package of remixes from Denham Audio, Lighght and Jellypelt. 

Hailing from Kilkenny, Ireland, Polytunnel is a meeting point of sounds and interests, not bound by genre or scene. His style of melodic electro mixed with breakbeat influenced acid has seen his music gain acclaim from the likes of Mixmag, DJ Mag, Inverted Audio, XLR8R and supported by the late great Andrew Weatherall on his much-missed NTS show, Music’s Not for Everyone.

Released on his own Made Magnetic imprint along with a trio of sublime remixes, latest single Outer Earth see Polytunnel at the top of his game. Blending euphoric  ravey stabs with celestial synths, clattering drum fills and punchy drums, Outer Earth sits at the borders of electro and techno, with plaintive melodies and crisp production creating a uniquely unearthly atmosphere. 

First up on remix duties in Denham Audio, an artist who has brought new urgency and vitality to the modern rave scene. The sound they’re pushing is rooted in the legacy of UK hardcore, but those foundational sounds and styles are given a thorough spruce up, feeding into the buoyant areas of exploration happening between 140 and 160 BPM. Their remix is characterised by broken beats and variable tempos which create a heady, disorientating vibe.   

Irish producer Lighght takes Outer Earth into hyperpop-meets-hardcore territory, upping the BPM and employing deep bass throbs and cascading synths, while completing the package is Jellypelt – who previously released his debut album 2127 Tanya through Polytunnel’s Moot Tapes imprint – who adds layers of ethereal vocals and epic breakdowns to his broken beat rave exploration.

COHEMA is an electronic music duo, full of taste, rhythm and fusion, part of the Local Fuzz collective. A project that seeks to sweeten the electronic music scene with their special flavor, from one of the most ancestral cities in the New World: Quito, Ecuador.

COHEMA’s productions and sets, always rhythmic and playful, are characterized by a great musical versatility and the conjunction of different genres and styles, without ever taking a step backwards—as far as rhythm is concerned. In other words, COHEMA equals freedom. A freedom always rhythmic, that does not allow to anticipate its changes, submerging you, when you least expect it, in deep atmospheres where the dynamic drums of the TR8 will become the only and joyful salvation.

The 44th issue of Savia Park presents COHEMA with four fundamental pieces. Forever Sound, an organic mix of TR8 and the VST U-he Diva, pleases us with a deep intro that rises through a break beat to become a house track where we yearn for the continuous bass drum.

Up Front is a mix of break with ambient and house melodies and vocals, synthesized in a rhythmic 4/4.

On the other hand, 234, is a piece whose main intention is to dance. A piece of cult and Club, makes us perceive its bass as something organic and stellar, without limits, accompanied by delicious breaks, to continue the night, and if we have to stop, it will only be for a brief moment.

Reality, the piece that gives its name to the EP, has long and suggestive vocals, in which bass and ambient get mixed at the same level, to generate a psycho-acoustic sensation worthy of the eighties.
