Miami-based DJ/producer Bryan Softwell launches his new imprint Swell, unveiling the label’s debut release with his two-track ‘If These Walls Could Talk’ EP.
Born and raised in Miami, self-taught DJ/producer Bryan Softwell has emerged from the city’s bustling nightlife scene and risen through the ranks to set himself up as a name to watch for the future. From his recent appearance at iii Points through to, EDC Orlando, LA’s Day Trip and New York’s Webster Hall, his sets and sound, taking influences from his Latin heritage, have seen him gain key early love and support from Pete Tong, MK, Cloonee, and Lee Foss to name a few. Building on releases via Sink Or Swim, Night Service Only, and multiple outings on Foss’ Repopulate Mars, his next project sees him level up again with the launch of his own label, Swell.
Following a series of electrifying Swell parties, bringing together music aficionados from all walks of life, the natural progression brings a platform to capture the magic of those nights and showcase its signature sound: infectious beats, hypnotic basslines and irresistible grooves capturing the sun-kissed beaches of Miami to the darkest corners of the city’s underground club scene. Opening things in style, late November welcomes the arrival of his ‘If These Walls Could Talk’ EP - with early love from Luciano, Blackchild, Iglesias and ChaseWest.

A vibrant production fusing rousing Salsa interludes amongst crisp rolling percussion and intoxicating grooves, title track ‘If These Walls Could Talk’ is a perfect example of Softwell’s growing sound as he delivers a bubbling cut made for the dancefloor, while ‘Lucky Break’ uncovers a percussive workout as slinking drums and icy hats weave around warped vocal samples to shape things up nicely.

Mateo Dufour hails from Argentina and runs a number of his own labels but here finds himself on Politics Of Dancing with an irresistible new hand-stamped white label 12". It's direct to dancefloor business from the off with the bristling drums and perc powering along 'Let Yourself Go' beneath snatched vocal yelps. 

There is just as much silvery metallic texture on show in 'Power Of Them', a jacked-up house sound with more vocal encouragement and neon melodic phrases panning about the mix. 'Dashed Street' is a third and final steel-plated house cut before cultured Frenchman D'Julz remixes 'Dashed Street' into a smoother tech house cruiser.

Internationally renowned house talents Bontan & Lazarusman come together for a brilliant brace of new tracks on One Tribe Records.
Bontan is one of the highest-ever selling artists on Beatport; such is the appeal of his unique brand of house music. It is now a decade since he first broke through, and since then, the anthemic sounds have kept coming on labels like Hot Creations and Origins Records. At the same time, his DJ diary has taken him to the most significant festivals, from Coachella to Tomorrowland, proving there are few more influential artists out there. For this release, he joins up with Lazarusman, a South African spoken word artist who has spent the last decade pioneering his unique brand of poetry across a multitude of electronic music genres. He has released on labels such as Connaisseur Recordings, Anjunadeep and Nervous Records, garnering critical acclaim for his distinctive sound.
First up is the brilliantly loose Afro grooves of 'Drum Rhythm' with layers of hits, toms and congas tumbling down over the funky kicks. Lazarusman's spoken words bring real emotion with lyrics inspired by “the thumping rhythm of life”, as the compelling rhythms never let up and keep the dance floor bouncing. The equally organic 'Dramatic' is just as brilliant in assembling a groove from an array of drum sounds. They make for a hypnotic, body-popping rhythm that is detailed with lush synths and more soulful bars from Lazarusman, as well as plenty of extra and subtle Afro details.
The ‘Drum Rhythm’ EP is a potent pair of authentic and original tracks from these innovative artists.
