M.F.S: Observatory make a welcome return with the Dónde Estás EP on Canadian house label Griffintown Records. M.F.S: Observatory is a London based artist who has shown his talents on the likes of Glasgow Underground, Kneaded Pains, FORM Music and more in the past, and he comes correct one again with this new 3 tracker!!

First up, Dónde Estás brings chunky house funk. The hi hats are razor sharp and the bass is big and bulky, with some smart vocal samples adding extra spice. Africa then gets more percussive, with a slinky groove detail with plenty of choppy hits and hats. An alluring vocal grows ever more prominent in the mix and is joined by some tribal chants that really finish it in style. Baby finishes in ravey fashion with chattery claps, raw piano stabs that light up the whole track.

Premiere: M.F.S Observatory - Dónde Estás [Griffintown Records]

Continuing their Alphabet Series this fall is Italian artist, M.F.S: Observatory. Chunky, energetic and playful have always been 3 words to describe the talented producer's sound, but moving forward he will now interpret this style into a prolific techno sound. Next up on his own Observatory Music is, “V”. The let the music do the talking attitude to this series has seen the producer evolve over the years with this stop being quite notably some of his finest work to date. 

Thunderous sounds in “V1”, an enormous kick driving the force of the track combined with intricately placed hi-hats, trippy acid tinges melting into the body of the track. “V2” is a pacey encounter from the get go, animated yet it holds a killer groove at the heart. Fiery and dark movements in the final track of the EP, “V3” transcending techno sounds for the peak time moments, reminiscent of the hazy mornings we will all adore. 

Clean cut techno from a promising talent in the game, M.F.S: Observatory.

Premiere: M.F.S Observatory - V2 [Observatory Music]

An exceptional compilation by Cyclic Records, consisting of four tracks, conveys the Cyclic perspective of what the contemporary minimal/deep tech sound should sound like and features authentic minimal vibes.
The opening track called 'New Beat' is made by Perky Wires and features outer space synths, deep and low baseline, tight drum beat and atmospheric vocal cuts. The VA continues with a tune created by label boss Mihai Popoviciu, named 'Vigilance', that dips the listener in another dimension. The track is full of pure groove coupled with deep pads and hypnotizing drum-work. For the third track comes 'Future What' by James Dexter, who shows his amazing production skills, delivering and deep house track full of mysterious sounds that expands your consciousness. The closing Azteca's 'Metronomic' is based on really thick low-end laced up with perfectly arranged melodic cuts and destroyed vocals that instantly make you bounce.

Ireland’s Polytunnel evokes a celestial electro rave with latest single Outer Earth, back up with an exceptional package of remixes from Denham Audio, Lighght and Jellypelt. 

Hailing from Kilkenny, Ireland, Polytunnel is a meeting point of sounds and interests, not bound by genre or scene. His style of melodic electro mixed with breakbeat influenced acid has seen his music gain acclaim from the likes of Mixmag, DJ Mag, Inverted Audio, XLR8R and supported by the late great Andrew Weatherall on his much-missed NTS show, Music’s Not for Everyone.

Released on his own Made Magnetic imprint along with a trio of sublime remixes, latest single Outer Earth see Polytunnel at the top of his game. Blending euphoric  ravey stabs with celestial synths, clattering drum fills and punchy drums, Outer Earth sits at the borders of electro and techno, with plaintive melodies and crisp production creating a uniquely unearthly atmosphere. 

First up on remix duties in Denham Audio, an artist who has brought new urgency and vitality to the modern rave scene. The sound they’re pushing is rooted in the legacy of UK hardcore, but those foundational sounds and styles are given a thorough spruce up, feeding into the buoyant areas of exploration happening between 140 and 160 BPM. Their remix is characterised by broken beats and variable tempos which create a heady, disorientating vibe.   

Irish producer Lighght takes Outer Earth into hyperpop-meets-hardcore territory, upping the BPM and employing deep bass throbs and cascading synths, while completing the package is Jellypelt – who previously released his debut album 2127 Tanya through Polytunnel’s Moot Tapes imprint – who adds layers of ethereal vocals and epic breakdowns to his broken beat rave exploration.

TBX Limited welcomes Timid Boy on board with a massive three-tracker packed with strictly underground sound. The 'Noitna' immediately drowns into a psychedelic yet groovy atmosphere. The track seats around an extremely bouncy drum beat coupled with flying stabs and tight low-end work making any dancefloor fly away. Next comes up a track called 'Dancer', that continues the EP in the same underground manner. Minimalistic drums, cool vocal sample and wicked beat, makes this track a great addition to the pack.
