Italian duo Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone debut on Hot Creations with ‘Playhouse’, backed by a remix from  Cologne favourite Kolter.  

Featuring as two young talents rising from the Italian house scene, Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone are gearing up  for their biggest release to date following a series of EPs across recent years. Joining forces for the first time to  rework Ann Peebles’ 1972 soul hit ‘I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down’, they debut on Hot Creations with their  collaboration ‘Playhouse’ - backed by a stellar remix from Cologne-based DJ/producer and label boss, Kolter. 

“The EP was born by chance, an experiment which turned out successful. It’s a mixture of sounds and  recordings accompanied by a taste of vintage soul music.” - Len Vitz.  

Harnessing the original production’s resonant vocals and funk-fuelled riffs, ‘Playhouse’ brings a 70’s classic to  modern dancefloors as slick drums and slinking bass grooves reveal a track made for memorable moments. On  the flip, Kolter’s remix brings an additional slice of vigour and energy as he utilises signature chords and skippy  percussion to shape up proceedings.

Originating with HoneyLuv, made in collaboration with Tuskegee co-founder Seth Troxler, and featuring portions of Paul Johnson’s classic 1998 track ‘So Much’, ’Sex & The City' is HoneyLuv’s homage to one of house music’s greats and an encapsulation of Tuskegee Music’s ethos of honouring the genre’s Black & Hispanic origins. Detroit house legend Marc Kinchen’s interpretations of the track imbues Sex & The City with all the beloved MK touches, from the inimitable drum patterns to the instant-earworm melody.

The release marks the return of the label founded by Seth Troxler & The Martinez Brothers in 2014. In addition to music from its label heads, Tuskegee Music featured artists including Omar-S, Jamal Moss, K' Alexi Shelby, D-Knox and William Djoko before going into hiatus in 2019.  The label’s upcoming schedule will continue to focus on its remit of supporting BIPOC artists, through the elevation of new talent and collaborations with some of house & techno’s most important and influential figures.

wAFF makes a triumphant return to Hot Creations after a seven-year hiatus with his three-track, groove-driven ‘Slapfunk EP’. 

Since his first outing back in 2012, wAFF has been an integral part of the Hot Creations family, remixing various releases and dropping a total of four EPs - the last being ‘Sick Pleasure’ in 2016, which still stands today as a highlight in the label’s extensive catalogue. Marking a long-awaited return to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ beloved imprint after seven years, with material via renowned labels such as Solid Grooves, Cocoon, Desolat and his very own NATURE imprint over that period further establishing him as a leading name, he arrives fresh from his third Paradise show of the season ready to ignite dancefloors with a trio of irresistible beats on ‘Slapfunk’. A project inspired following a night soundtracked by the Amsterdam collective, he notes “I originally made this EP after I’d been to Slapfunk in Amsterdam, and looked to create a track I thought would go down well there”. 

Title track ‘Slapfunk’ opens the release with shifting stabs, warping bass patterns and fizzing lead synths, steadily progressing into a menacing club-focused workout. Continuing his signature style, ‘Questions’ showcases a blend of pulsating beats synchronised with a warped vocal topline that enhances the allure. Finally, ‘Next Game’ delivers a punchy trip loaded with subtle minimal-leaning influences, combining chopped vocal snippets with slick, stripped-back percussion.

Opening with head-honcho Yaya's collaboration with a long-time friend of the label Alex Ground, the compilation branches out between rolling fat beats and gorgeous vocal hooks, including tracks by Jamahr, Toman, Nacho Bolognani, Rossi, Santé & The Willers Brothers, Luuk Van Dijk and many more, giving life to a release that mixes renowned and upcoming artists. 

Destined to be a mainstay in DJ sets for the foreseeable future, expect to hear Tamango Shots Vol. 1 throughout the summer and beyond.
