Kai Rodriguez debuts on Hottrax with two punchy cuts across his ‘Undaground’ EP. 

An imprint known for releasing quality material from established artists including East End Dubs and Christian Burkhardt, through to surging talents such as SOSA, Mason Collective and Wheats, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax continues to uncover new music from all corners of the house scene. Continuing their push for discovering fresh talent, December welcomes the addition of a new name as Northampton-based DJ/producer Kai Rodriguez prepares his biggest release to date with two rhythmic grooves across his ‘Undaground’ EP. 

Leading with rattling percussion, robust kicks and enticing vocal chants, ‘Undaground’ reveals an energetic opening production, while ‘POWR’ welcomes an up-front, no-nonsense production via snaking hats, distorted beats and pulsating basslines.

Following his recent collab ‘Attracted’ alongside Crusy, French artist Tony Romera is back on Toolroom with another slice of Tech House fire. 

Tony Romera first stepped onto the scene 10 years ago as a fresh-faced 20 year old looking to make waves and disrupt the electronic music world with his unique style and French-house inspired beats.

Since then he's been busy releasing music and experimenting with different sounds and styles, putting out music on a range of powerhouse labels and gaining support from the likes of Diplo, Fisher, Chris Lake, Mark Knight, DJ Snake, Skrillex, Tiesto, Porter Robinson, Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5, Kaskade, Vintage Culture, Claptone, Adam Beyer and many more. 

His remix of Julio Navas, Gustavo Bravetti and David Amo’s ‘Raw’ was one of Toolroom’s biggest tracks of 2022, picking up support from Fisher, LP Giobbi, Gordo and Carl Cox to name just a few. In the last few years Tony has become an integral part of the Toolroom family, and now returns to the label with his latest single ‘House Y’all’. 

The record’s distinct character is built upon a warped, creeping bassline and tough, relentless beats providing an irresistible pulsing backdrop as the familiar chanted vocal emerges. House Y’all is a sonic trip that transports you deep into the heart of the underground.

London-based DJ and producer ​1991 ​and UK duo ​MANT ​are the latest artists to remix the Claptone ​and ​Mylo ​collaborative single​ ‘Drop The Pressure’​, out​ ​today,​ 20th July​.
  
1991 ​steps up first, turning ‘Drop The Pressure’ into a high-energy, jump-up D&B bomb, fit with euphoric breakdown. ​MANT ​then base their edit around a deep and dirty bassline, delivering a heads down version that loses none of the original’s dancefloor appeal.

It follows recent reworks from Australian tech favourite ​Sonny Fodera and German remix don Purple Disco Machine​, with the latter already racking up more than​ 500,000 streams​.
