hello guys!! i’ve got a surprise drop and an announcement!!! 

first, the news! i’m working on a new ep!!! i told myself i’d stick to singles since they’re less stressful and faster to release than full projects, but i couldn’t resist this one. the ep is called “burnt sugar” and it’s another remix project. lately i’ve been back on my sad girl songs, and i’m really into the mix of emotional lyrics with hard, bouncy beats, so that’s the main vibe i’m going for. there’ll be a total of five songs, and i’m happy to say i’m almost finished. i’ve been cranking out tracks nonstop. i must’ve eaten or drunk something because i’ve been glued to fl studio. no release date yet, but i’m really aiming for the end of this month, and if not early november, so keep an eye out. i’ll be posting updates and sneak peeks on my twitter - x.com/prenezmoi

now onto this track!! i haven’t dropped something this soon after another release in a while, but this one felt worth it. i’ve been listening to it nonstop and just needed to share it. i was still super inspired after “hot as fuck,” so i kept exploring this hyperpop/techno blend, and i’ve been loving it. for this track, i wanted to remix “umm... life” by bibi because it’s one of my favorite songs ever. it holds so many memories from college, and i’ve always adored bibi’s voice. she’s insanely talented, and her music (and the original track) are truly untouchable.

i’m experimenting a bit here, using more plucky synth samples because i’ve been obsessed with that digital nostalgia sound lately. this is my take on it, and i’m honestly so happy with how it turned out. and of course, it wouldn’t be a moi track if i didn’t switch things up for the final drop, you know i had to make it dark and heavy. some things never change lol

umm life

hiya!!

love love love this track!! yet again, another song i’m so proud of. this one came together super smoothly and pretty quickly from the little idea in my noggin. the vocals are from “happen to me” by benee, a song that went triple platinum in my house during college lol. it only made sense to include it here since it fits perfectly with the theme of this ep. the lyrics are beautiful, talking about the anxiety of people leaving and the growing pains that come with it.

production-wise, it’s got that soft techno vibe with a touch of trance. that trance gate gets me every single time, it’s just too good, and i love the dreamy effect it gives the whole track. of course, i couldn’t resist doing a little switch-up after the chorus into a grittier kick and bass. it’s basically a guarantee at this point lol

happen to me

hello <3

this was such a fun song to make, but i definitely had a few hurdles along the way. i knew i wanted to use the vocals from “how it ends” by luck park, but the production kept tripping me up. i literally scrapped the whole thing twice before finally landing on this heavy, underground techno-inspired track. i can’t even explain how much i love the combo of soft synths with those stompy kicks, it just scratches the right part of my brain. it’s peak to me lol.

i also really like how there’s barely any breathing room in this song before it dives right back into the bass. the final drop at the end actually came from one of the scrapped versions, i wanted to use that kick pattern so badly but couldn’t get it to fit. so i bumped up the bpm, threw it into the end of this project, and it worked perfectly. it’s so fast and intense, and i think it closes the track in the best way. i’m happy i got to keep a piece of the original vision in the final version.

how it ends

hello hello!

what a chill yet bassy track lol! i really like this one a lot, the lyrics are super interesting, talking about being in a crowded club surrounded by people, yet still feeling disconnected and wanting to just go back home. that feeling is so relatable in so many different settings, and i think it adds a unique perspective to the overall theme of the ep.

that being said, this track definitely took a lot out of me. i ran into so many issues trying to execute my initial idea and, like another track on this project, i ended up scrapping it entirely a few times before landing on this gem. i’m so proud of how it turned out and honestly so glad i didn’t give up (even though i was close lol). it reminded me to just keep pushing through and you’ll eventually get there.

i particularly love this drop, i took some inspiration from the original song’s vocal chops. the track is called “and me” by seori, and i’ve been a huge fan of hers for years. her voice has always been so captivating to me.
