Yay! Summerbreak on Callshop Radio is finally over and we hope y’all had some mad fun august 23’! As you may have noticed we took an extra long break with IR as our juli show sadly had to be canceled spontaneously. 

So now we are more than hyped that we can kick off by inviting Machine Ethics. Mainly influenced by modern electro artists such as w1b0 or Umwelt, his root influences go much more into both depth and width. EBM, Industrial and Electro Industrial came way before being hooked with modern Electro or IDM. Andrew Weatherall and projects like “Two Lone Swordsmen” as well as "Transparent Sound“ an „Plaid“ are huge electronic influences for him. As our residency hopefully shows - It’s not only about electronic music - and that’s the same for our guest. Stoner Rock, Folk and Post Punk as well as Goth Rock are his weapons of choice when he needs to reboot his system.
„I bought my first synthesizer and drum computer in 1999, a Yamaha SY 77 and a Boss DR202,
starting to experiment with them using Cubase and to record (mostly industrial) stuff that I'll keep anonymous. However, in 2008, I got on a very anti-materialistic trip while moving from Berlin to Leipzig, sold all my gear and just kept my acoustic guitar“.
In 2020 he decided to start his new Electro Project: Machine Ethics, embracing today's possibilities of producing and distributing. We‘re looking forward to it, we know you‘re too.

Finishing off the year with another special show. We called +49341/30861076 and invited AHABZUTUN from Leipzig’s @prepaidrecords to join us for some music and talks.

The label curator and Shell Tapes head, operating out of the open collaborative space Aquarium, visited us in the studio with a walkman and some of their latest releases and we got a glimpse of what the Prepaid discography sounds like. Established in 2019 we did not only talk about a label constantly releasing Tapes but also a Mixtape series which over the years featured a wide range of great artists focusing on more abstract and ambientish sounds. We got to know more about the label, tapes in general and how things are handled at R21.
