Visual Communication Promo Project 1 - By Saif Al Matrooshi

We were required to create a remix of Moby's track "Almost Home." When i first heard the original track, i knew i wanted to create a version of my own which would be slightly more upbeat but still maintaining the actual tone of the track. To do this, i started off the editing process by using a drum beat that was part of the package pulled off from the blend file shared by Mody. I added some bass and other elements to gradually ease in to the lead vocals that i cut and rearranged along with secondary vocals. I also create an original drum rack comprising of several ambient samples, some synths and kicks to which I added audio and MIDI effects to achieve the effect i wanted. I also used audio effects on parts of the vocals. To avoid creating a mix that would sound rather monotonous, i created a drastic change towards the end of the track, where in the drums, synths and other elements fade out gradually and you only hear the lead vocals (this acts like a break from all the beat) and then you hear 1 beat sequence along with the vocals and viola!
