Rehearsed and recorded by Present Music under the direction of the composer, Zamboturfidir is a cross-cultural melange written in nine short movements with hit and run tactics. It was composed in 2012 for the combination of the Irish group Yurodny and the Turkish group Hezarfen, with the edgy sounds of strings, wild baritone saxophone, tenor trombone and certain percussion instruments being of special interest. It references the wild aspects of Turkish folk music, Ottoman classical music, with Irish music never far from Ince’s thoughts.
