The present is not always easy to understand. Sometimes it remains cryptic and mysterious. The music project Present Paradox tells about it. The result is melancholic as well as danceable. Wide and intimate at the same time. Diverse and yet familiar. In one word: Paradox.

The leading force behind Present Paradox is the songwriter and media artist David Kleinekottmann from Dortmund, Germany. Since 2013 he regularly releases LP's / EP's that oscillate between art-rock, electronica and ambient. Early on, former Cocteau Twins bassist Simon Raymonde expressed his enthusiasm on the British radio: "That's an exciting sound David is making!"*. And Thoralf Koß, chief editor of Musikreviews.de attests Present Paradox a fine "feeling for addictive melodies and poetic lyrics"*.

In 2016, David Kleinekottmann started to get the sound of Present Paradox EP's to the stages. Equipped with keyboard, guitar, sampler and a varied set, always ready to give everything on stage and to sink into the songs. The german concert critic Captain's Dinner wrote about the last performance shortly before the outbreak of the 2020 pandemic: "A project that has undoubtedly has international class and definitely deserves more attention"***.
