 My friend in Bristol managed to escape Syria last year (part of his journey involved swimming across the English Channel in the middle of the night) so the situation over there is something I've followed closely.  

Doctors Without Borders support eight hospitals in the city of Aleppo. They also run six medical facilities across northern Syria and support more than 150 health centres and hospitals across the country, many of them in besieged areas.

Cornered is the first instalment from the Moods EP, giving an insight into what you can expect from this 3 track debut EP. Forcing you into a false sense of security, the intro fills you with a feeling of emptiness, combined with sharp hats, piercing drums and echoing vocals the suspense begins to build. Listeners then become consumed by this heavy hitting dark horse, that is designed to test the capabilities of any speaker system. Established club material, the intense bass is certain to get any dance floor moving down low.

● [B] Macca – Love is Tender (LoHi Stereo Remix):
First there was the Hosta Remix and now, sampled directly from NVR001, comes the LoHi Stereo Remix of this classic, powerful and chilled Dubstep track, Love is Tender. Hosta supplied the upbeat Liquid DnB vibes for his Remix, then came a new edit at the opposite end of the Drum & Bass spectrum, courtesy of LoHi Stereo. Continuing where Cornered left off, this LoHi Stereo Remix sees them apply their trademark sound, fusing together abrupt drums and a routine deep driving bassline. Expertly combining samples to feature high tempo powerful vocals, emotional strings and a warm piano melody that defines the original mix.

State of Life is a reflection of the emotions of the EP, consisting of soft soulful vocals, expansive overtones and captivating pads to create an intriguing ambience. LoHi Stereo are a DJ / Production quartet, hailing from the U.S.A & Puerto Rico. Four friends with a common interest, Angel (Judge), Rafael (Trixx), Ruben (Roove) and Andres (Rapid) formed LoHi Stereo after not being content with just playing other peoples’ tracks. For their production career they decided to go back to their roots, expanding their music to another level. With influences such Ed Rush & Optical, Konflict, Stakka & Skynet, Dbridge and Calibre, amongst others, this was only ever going to be a winning formula.

Since their conception LoHi Stereo have had the privilege of playing at highly regarded venues, from across both their homelands, including; Electric Daisy Carnival in Orlando, Rio Grande Plantation, Tunnel de Guajataca and Las Cuevas de Camuy. In doing so they have experienced lining up alongside DJ heavyweights such as; Fresh, Andy C, Pendulum, Loadstar, Dirtyphonics, LTJ Bukem, Ed Rush & Optical, Dieselboy and many more. When not on the same bill as Drum & Bass’ elite you can find LoHi Stereo smashing FM radio waves as well as indulging club goers in Puerto Rico.

With their debut imprint, the Moods EP, firmly established upon the Drum & Bass genre, 2013 looks to be a promising year for LoHi-Stereo. Combining influences from Garage, 2-Step, UK Funky, House, Broken Beat, and Drum & Bass Triangle Man brings an eclectic blend of genres into his sets.
 
Based in Oakland CA he produces shows with the Sub Society Events crew, which has collaborated with clubs such as Halcyon, 1015 Folsom, Monarch, Verso, Hawthorn, and Harlot. Performing along side artists like: Kyle Watson, Doorly, Walker & Royce, Christian Martin, Lenny Kiser, Will Clarke & Sage Armstrong his events in SF tend to lean towards a tech house oriented crowd, but he also collaborates with the East Bay bass music scene frequently and produces events with a combo of bass and house music genres. 

Now that the COVID-19 pandemic is starting to end we can expect some new events to emerge for the Sub Society crew and Triangle Man.  

Rewind and you find he has been immersed in the electronic dance scene since the mid 90s. With his older brother creating some of the first events in his hometown of Eugene OR he grew up with dance music as a staple. Frequent visits to his family in Chicago gave him a unique opportunity to dig for house music in the city where it all began. With a suitcase full of vinyl he brought that influence back with him to the West Coast where he took that inspiration and began building up his community.  

Bringing a unique sound and vibe to the scene he continues pushing the envelope forward for music culture on the West Coast.
