AnGy KoRe is next on Respekt Recordings with his new techno EP. &#8216;El Darketton&#8217; starts the EP with a bang techno anthem. A dark affair full of heavy beats mixed perfectly with twisted effects and an evil bassline on the foreground. A solid techno production. Closing this EP is &#8216;I Don&#8217;t Like&#8217; which is definitely sure it will rock many dancefloors. The beats are intense, featuring stabbing and dark basslines, vocal hooks, an array of sounds are all over on this track. &#8220;Escapism&#8221; consists of constant old-school overtones, interpreted via modern instrumentation and that&#8217;s the first thing that comes right at you when you hear the familiar piano chords over the quirky rhythm section. A living, breathing bassline mimics the melody while hovering pads and a commanding, spoken word vocal all blend together to complete the affair. 
 As expected, dusbpeeka&#8217;s remix opts for a more sparse approach with claps piercing the thick atmosphere created by the spacious effects. The low-frequency rumble serves as fuel for this chugger as persistent hi hats and manipulated elements from the original all fall into place.

The mysterious Desta Cullen puts his own twist on the evolution of the Skeleton sound, with the title track boasting sonar-esque stabs and a stomping kick drum. Haunting synths play the major part here, while the sparse arrangement lets each element shine and fall into place in the rocksteady groove. 
 On &#8220;Shenandoah&#8221; things get a bit busier in the rhythm section and rubber-band bass adds to the constantly mutating vibe. Garbled electronic melodies are at the helm and they, in turn, evolve over the duration of the spooky affair.

Our money’s on summer 2010 being a vintage year for live British dance music. Sure, the old guard such as Leftfield, Underworld, Way Out West, and Orbital will be picking up the headlines for their return to the festival circuit, but in terms of new blood, look no further than techno duo, Spektre.

Hailing from Sheffield - no stranger itself to successful man/machine syntheses - the pairing of ‘Filthy’ Rich and Paul Maddox is part of a new breed of rave-inspired, intelligent dance music young bucks.

They took the Glade festival and SW4 crowds by storm in 2009, having already travelled the UK, South American, US and European gig circuits packing out venues with their distinctive brand of exceptionally danceable electronic body music.

Release-wise, their productions and remixes for the likes of Fever Ray, Lionrock, Future Sound Of London, and many more, have afforded them plenty of plaudits from blogs and techno’s aristocracy (Sven Vath, Ritchie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, and Dubfire are all fans).

‘Casting Shadows Without Light’ is an astonishing debut album. CD 1 is a mixture of vocal electronica, spoken word samples, sci-fi audio steals, and instrumentals, as the 13 tracks veer from noisy epics and ether-soaked techno torch songs, to ambient interludes and an atmospheric drum n bass closer. And when it comes to a delicate use of melody, Spektre exude more warmth and beauty in 16 bars than a thousand indie troubadours ever will.

CD2 brings together a selection of extended mixes from the album, each in a longer form with a nod to the band’s dancefloor origins.

Label boss Cristian Varela is up first and adds a splash of while isle nostalgia as his version overflows with melody and features a very sticky bassilne.&nbsp; An infectious synth line is also added in style, for that extra touch of spice.&nbsp; The Filterheadz whip up a percussion-led monster, focusing heavily on the drums, yet adding the original&#8217;s chords in pure big-room fashion.&nbsp; Closing up is none other than CKOS, and he brings the sub bass goodness to the table, alongside clanging percussive edits, warbling electronics and fragments of the original mangled to perfection.

Blue City Dub and Vinz Exe team up for this furious package and the title track is up first with mangled vocals reiterating the actual title and a sparse arrangement depending heavily on the juicy sub bass. The Responder remix introduces the addition of tense atmospherics which create a futuristic vibe that is reinforced by the rumbling low-end. On the synth-led &#8220;Forest Shades&#8221;, mighty stabs and an evolving, eerie riff take center stage before Responder takes over once again to completely flip things around with a dubbed-out approach, complete with distressed electronics and shadowy effects.

Keeping things totally subliminal with a haunting melody and an apocryphal vocal snippet, we are kept locked in via the pulsating bass and commanding synths that seem to have been programmed in some kind of dismal future.&nbsp; 

A remix from label boss T78 was essential to this release, and the original has been completely flipped on its head, with a big surprise halfway through, as only he knows how. Another brother-in-arms from the other side of the pond is up next, and of course we are talking about Durtysoxxx who based his version on the synth progressions and provided the heads-down vibe of the package.&nbsp; 
UK duo Drumsauw seal the deal with a spacious mix, letting their rendition breathe effortlessly while keeping the production crystal clear.

It's time for something a little bit special. 



As if a track from the Washington DC / Stockholm combo Pleasurekraft wasn't a warped enough affair, the groovy tech duo have enlisted the help of the master of all things bugged out and kooky, Green Velvet, for their latest release. It may seem like an unexpected collaboration at first, but when you consider their shared love of quirky, unusual sounds and vocals, the idea starts to seem like a stroke of genius.



No remixes, no B-sides; just a slice of bubbling electronic funk that hits all the right spots. Green Velvet's inimitable, mind-bending vocals meeting Pleasurekraft's distinctive vocal treatment is a recipe for a seriously twisted excursion, his camp rap twisted through pitchshifting and ruthless cutting and slicing. The track builds slowly through waves of chugging bass and snappy beats, building to a frenzied climax with one of Pleasurekraft's trademark guttural synth lines carving its way through the groove amidst frenetic horn blasts, squelchy FX  and sassy cuts from the vocal. The only complaint? It's all over way too soon and you're left manically searching for the rewind/repeat button.. 



Addictive, mischievous and at times downright bizarre; this is the sound of two acts with a penchant for weirdness and grooviness combining in freaky synergy for an explosive result.

Jamie Jones &amp; Lee Fosss Hot Creations offshoot label Hot Waves, releases its forth Hot Waves compilation kicking off the new year in style with this sixteen track album and vinyl double pack with some hot, hot licks! 

The Hot Creations offshoot has gone from strength to strength and this Hot Waves volume does little to disappoint. The album features some burgeoning new talent as well some familiar faces and seasoned veterans all contributing. The album kicks off with Leeds legend Buckley combing with Ives St. Ange on vocals to produce the most infectious slice of genre defying hip-house youll hear this year, ridiculously hooky youll be humming it until summer.. woot woot! Next up and hot on the heels of the huge Pain n Love EP, released on Hot Creations early in 2012, HNQO team up with Bip for the hotly anticipated City Lights. Already highly sought after and heavily championed this is another sure-fire hit from Henrique. Next up are house stalwarts Simon Baker and Rob James as they combine with England Brooks to deliver a slice of hothouse pie best served straight up no chaser!. Then another killer courtesy of house hero Lil Mark, previous recording for Classic and Disco 45, Mark delivers an ice cold a slice of killer house. Fate &amp; Destiny is a truly timeless piece of house that is simply devastating on the floor! House legend Filthy Rich delivers the monstrous Do It Again. Rich has been releasing records since the mid 90s and this is testament to his skills as a producer, proper chi-town business. Also featured is Jamie Jones edit of Alexis Raphaels Rave. Another huge record that will have you jacking like a maniac, proper rave!

LA Based band Human Life team up with Anabel England who sang on Lee Fosss recent Electricity track with MK. Falling is an emotive electronic torch song with Anabels stupendous voice. Tom Ruijg produces a dirty jacking, break beat colossus of a track, S For Sticky which is another absolute killer. Also featured is Denney with the infectious Shake The Club another top track that has already featured radio support from Mr Tong; Blond;ish team up with Balcazar and Sordo for the spooky groover Island Eyes. Julien Sandre &amp; Dast and Mike Gill both make their second appearance on Hot Waves both producing some great dance floor weaponry. Mikes Furious is an ominous cavalcade of beats and bass lines, while Julien and Dast go deep US style jackin with Reality. Also featured are new artists Carlo Gambino with the quirky jacker Body 2 Body, Kameleons murky monster Fuel To The Fire, Mykel Haze &amp; Marco Darko sparse electronic Computer Love as well as Crosstown Rebels artist Metrika teaming up with Bastard Love to produce the albums finale Not My Lady.

So it is! Spaniard well known producers Gabriel DOr &amp; Bordoy put out their debut EP on Phobiq Recordings. This EP is an exciting ride into pure techno. The original mix of Element 84 is a techno anthem, wrapping with hypnotic strings over a deep bounce. Based as well in Madrid, Alex Under takes control with a massive remix on the first original. Alexs remix on Element 84 is a heavy techno hybrid, with a rolling percussion that really does the damage. The EP finishes with Metrik Expansion which is a techno territory, propelled with dark bassline all over. This EP is overflowed with energy and will definitely rock the dancefloors, plus the remix makes sure to find admirers too.

Gabriel D'Or & Bordoy - Element 84 (Alex Under Remix) [Phobiq]

For the ninth release in Plasteline’s Elect series two back to back tracks courtesy of Tomas and Insteption are on the menu, the former’s ‘Black Voids’ embodying an intoxicating melange of melodic techno with some progressive elements, while the latter’s ‘Genesis’ sticks to a formula of tightly coiled syncopation and louring synth lines that wrap around each other to create a pinched and busy sense of time and space.
