The signal started as a tickle reaching from the toes up to the knee
and at this point it became itchy. Scratching itches sometimes sets skin free.
Oh but skin can only take so much. Wounds can hold just so much pus.
It started as a tickle- now the tickle's got its own body
with arms and feet
hands to hold what it pleases
eyes to read what it sees
a head to know what it needs.

The signal sang a different tune
in the key of C.
The words mentioned you
and every measure true.

The signal wasn't in distress but it changed the color of its dress
from red to green and every hue between.
It did this thing so frequently
that the only means of interpreting
was to waive your rights to believe anything
about wealth or health or the Theatre of Selves
(All the dirty things you like to do to yourself)
